I think that show was just a week or a day before the one I attended at the Riv in Chicago, and I had exactly the same experience. It's amazing how well they pulled off the whole set, but Familiarity was a highlight, especially considering how distinct it is from the rest of their works.

Yes. The whole show was fantastic but that one song seemed to stand out for some reason. I would agree, it stands out from their other material. Plus pulling off a 10 1/2 minute plus song with that many changes was just incredible to see and their singing harmonies were just spot on. Rare these days

I think to see anyone at The Ryman would be "transcendent." I need to see the Punch Brothers. What do you think of their newest album?

Well, I won't argue with you there....It was pretty awesome. I think the new album it is pretty fantastic. They seem to get better with each album and I like them all. Just a stellar group of creative musicians.

D if you haven't heard it, check out Londinium (1996) by Archive. I've posted a vid above, In many ways it was a pre-cursor to Mezzanine and has a very similar vibe
