What Are You Listening To Right Now?

(...on "CBS This Morning" in about an hour)

I saw them at the Riviera just a few weeks ago, and it was an amazing show. The new album puts a great twist on their sound, and Chris Thile knows how to work a crowd.

Today was a banner day of new purchases, with the highlight going to the first find on the list, a copy of the original self-released edition of Arcade Fire's first, self-titled EP. I'm not much of a collector or speculator, but this is a CD that already has some real value (the only two non-reissue copies on eBay right now are $30 and $90) and something I'll probably be putting in plastic bag for a few years. It also brings my Arcade Fire collection to completion at last, and all for only $5 from a store that didn't know what they had.

Arcade Fire EP by Arcade Fire (known at the time as The Arcade Fire)

Here And Nowhere Else by Cloud Nothings

Gliss Riffer by Dan Deacon

Aureate Gloom by of Montreal

More Songs About Buildings And Food by Talking Heads

Remain In Light by Talking Heads

Wavvves by Wavves

Polish Progressive Rock bands. 2 of the best and best produced albums I've ever heard, totally underrated. These albums will give your hi-fi equipment a serious workout

@DLeeWebb Just saw them at the Ryman in Nashville a couple of weeks ago. Hearing Familiarity live was transcendent.

I think that show was just a week or a day before the one I attended at the Riv in Chicago, and I had exactly the same experience. It's amazing how well they pulled off the whole set, but Familiarity was a highlight, especially considering how distinct it is from the rest of their works.
