Recorded in 1974 at Lincoln Center, NYC. The band was the idea of former
rhythm section players from Dizzy Gillespie's big band.

Music composed by Sigmund Romberg.
Music composed by Dizzy Gillespie.
Music composed by John Lewis (pianist and bandleader of the MJQ).
Had some lagniappe time, so spun up this one. Thanks for the idea, @finbad.
Good stuff -

Nina Simone You've Got to Learn. Recorded at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1966, released in 2023.
The live recording not so great, lots of background noise and distortion, but the music itself it excellent. And Nina's piano play excellent (as always).
BTW, I know that site says ships 24 Dec 2023, but the CD has been out since at least November when I got it as posted here.

The musical past was so much better than the musical present.

Sade fan here, and my favorite Sade album is Love Deluxe (Epic, 1992). My collection...
Favs - Feel No Pain; Cherish The Day; Bullet Proof Soul. Love that bass hook in Feel No Pain.
