And for something "completely" different. An all-Instrumental Jazz/rock/fusion mix. This 1st track really starts to groove around the 1:35 mark and is so in the pocket. The drummer is a freak of nature human metronome. Love this stuff! ENJOY!

Styx - Pieces of Eight

I did a review of their earliest albums (before Grand Illusion) yesterday, and some of their really early stuff was very well executed progressive rock; some was just great straight ahead rock; and some was... well... There's a [>>] button on the player for a reason. :notes:

Just doing my weekly music hunting and an old friend showed up. It has been a few years so I bought my third album by The Heavy. Or I should say pre-bought. It comes out next Friday, but I did get four songs today. I really seem to pace myself with these guys as I have The Glorious Dead (2012), Sons (2019) and now Amen (2023). Check out:

Their earliest stuff is their best. Immediately after pieces of eight, I was done. Sold out to corporate pressure like so many other bands. Nothing wrong with success and making $$, but was it their idea, or someone else sitting behind a desk, in a suite, never have even played a kazoo in their life.

I really love this song, but it's one of my least favorite from them. Huh? I just think this band is and was incredible for this time period, while aging well. After their 2nd album though, I was pretty much done with them. Incredible how huge they were and how fast they fell. It took so long for that to happen too, and a story explaining things, would last pages.

Huh, I was about to reply sth to your comment but you just said what I had in mind so. Pretty sure they fell because of that 8-year hiatus induced by their label.

It's about here I stop - it was just never the same really without Brad Delp.....

Touché - it was just a way of saying it was overplayed. An interesting list though, you seem to be eager on the latest stuff w/ Delp and less fan of Don't Look Back than me. Agreed, there are some bands that haven't been able to be the same without some of their musicians -IMO this is one of the cases-.
