Jazz fans, I'm looking for recommendations for a good starting point for Brad Mehldau. His playing is beautiful.
 
I discovered him thru his collaborations with Metheny.
 
I'm looking at the Art of the Trio collection, but not sure I want the entire collection as my first pick up.

Can't help, but the only thing I do know is to AVOID Highway Rider. It's the only thing I have of his from god knows where and I've not pursued him ever since.

I've been streaming his well received Trio live performances-there are like 5-7 separate releases now sold as a box set. They're quite good but it's a lot of music.Places from 2000 sounds pretty good, as well.
