I'm about to start watching Otographic Arts #50 live on Ustream. They are going to play several exclusive previews from Shingo Nakamura's coming artist album Days and a new track by aran! Hyped.

Dr. Fester's prescription for winter blues...

Let the darkness consume you
And turn your mind to jelly
Or drink the Darkness
'Til it's all in your belly

"We strongly advise you to listen to this album in full length, from start to finish, without interruption or distraction. Only then you will embrace the true power of the fuzz."

May the fuzz be with you!

Ur welcome. I love Monk's music. Initially I thought it was very easy to approach and pretty straightforward, but after a while I realized it's actually beyond complex and most fascinating. Hearing modern interpretations like this is a real treat.

Jazz fans, I'm looking for recommendations for a good starting point for Brad Mehldau. His playing is beautiful.

I discovered him thru his collaborations with Metheny.

I'm looking at the Art of the Trio collection, but not sure I want the entire collection as my first pick up.

Thoughts?

I would recommend all of his Art of the Trio recordings. They are all fantastic but if you are looking for a good starting point. I would HIGHLY suggest starting with Vol.3-Songs and Vol. 1, also Live in Tokyo is solo piano and just fantastic.
