Listening to music and good coffe always went together for me and always will.
The sound of good coffee will make any day better.

Yesterday I did a back flush cleaning of the Breville Dual Boiler and it started making a few noises that were a bit concerning, whine-like, as though some of the internal tubing had sprung a leak.

After this morning's two espressi came off without a hitch, though, I'm feeling better. A touch over 19g ground is a good amount of my Square Mile Honduran blend. At just under grind setting 1 on the EK, the shot is opening right around 900 kilopascals of pressure, maybe 920, before drooping down to 750 or 800 by 30 seconds in.

The flavors are good. I cut the first shot off at 35g, the second at 45g. I think I might prefer 45. Seemed rounder

Sounds like you're getting it sorted. My dual boiler makes some strange sounds from time to time.... I mostly ignore them now fully expecting that it will pop a vein at some point (it's one of the first ones in the shop when i bought it, so it's maybe 7 or 8 years old now, and has had a 5 year grease and oil change). If/When it blows I'll be in the market for something new as the repair will probably be not worth the cost. That's OK, it's had a good run.

Can't wait to be back home after 3 weeks in the Philippines with work.... looking forward to that first coffee from the old clunker!

You guys sure have some nice coffee making gear. Still getting by with my siphon which does make a good cup.

Oh wow siphon is quite rarified. Siphon and nel are the two main Japanese methods, right?

I think so. I see them in joe bean roasters here in Rochester also.

Back before espresso, i was wanting a siphon, though i went with french press due to lazyness. I could prep the french press, then bring to my desk to press and drink.

Coffee should not be mixed with anything (including cream and sugar, IMHO). Just want the coffee taste and that's it.

Cannot argue that point. Why bother buying beans with a certain flavor, or origin, only to add cream and sugar...McDonald's Coffee

The Coffee Taliban is up in this joint!

(Just kidding. Though I like my coffee with sweetener and no milk.)
