What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

When I see $2700, I still think high schooler's first used car. I know, I'm old. :triportsad:
I bought my first car from my dad for $250. It was a 1969 Fiat 124 Sport Coupe.

On the coffee front, I picked up the whole bean Guatemalan medium roast and Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. The Guatemalan is excellent, with a classic flavor profile. And again Union Place included a free whole bean sample, this time the Breakfast Blend. Good luck finding a better deal for this quality of roast.

I think my first car was $700 (or maybe $900) and I got it as a junior in college. Your high schoolers must be well heeled  Or much younger.

First car purchased in summer of 1971 for $1000. 1965 GTO convertible with Hurst 4-speed and a bad u-joint. Drove 950 miles from Chi town to New Orleans. Fixed for $45. by mechanic I met in NOLA. Did I mention it was the first I drove a manual tranny. 5 days practice before the trip. Those were the days.

I’m also excited about my bright red stand mixer that’s coming on Monday. My pizza dough will be so impossibly silky.

Vitamix is tbd, debating 5200 and A2500. I wish they ascent series had a tall skinny 64 oz container.

Well...if I was to get a classic car from my childhood years, it would be this ^^^ or a 65 Mustang convertible

The only car I couldn't beat in my 440/4 speed Challenger from stoplight to stoplight was a Hurst Olds 442. GTOs and Mustangs were usually not a problem... Ah those were the days.

I agree with this. It will make a world of difference @Zojokkeli.
Perhaps consider the USB Gen5 at the same time ... if you use USB, it's a big improvement :)

I get a ton of noice via USB from my PC, so I’m not sure yet if I should buy the USB upgrade too, or continue using optical.

Still one of my dreams to get a 442 someday. I did have a 69 Chevelle super sport with a 396 . Thing was a beast.

I was using the old Gen2 USB in my Gungnir D/S DAC. It was noisy and unstable ... the music would stop and crash JRiver (running on Macbook Pro).
So, I bought a nice glass toslink cable. Problem solved, no more crashes, better sound.

Then, I upgraded the DAC to multibit and Gen5 USB. The SQ of the DAC improved very much.
I switched back to USB and it beat the sound over the toslink. The Gen5 USB is the real deal ... uber stable & better sound.

I remember the latest SQ line-up of Schiit DAC inputs to be: 1) AES, 2) RCA/BNC, 3) Gen5 USB, 4) Optical. YMMV.
Of course, there is Unison on the horizon that is purported to beat Gen5 USB by a wide margin :)

Happy Listening!
