Congrats!Salks are preparing to ship...get ready!!
What I was referring to is when I got mine, Jim had sent an image of the finished speakers. I was hoping you had received an image of your SongTower RTs.Sadly we delayed purchase of Ragnarok until last weekend, so we will have to make do with an inferior amp for some weeks...
I believe it's this model -

If you haven’t done so yet, you need to try some DT48 on piano. You will be astounded. One of the hardest tests for any headphone is piano. As some of you will recall, my godmother once referred contemptuously to it as "the bangity bang and tinkly tinkly." K812 seems decidedly to pull ahead of HD800 on piano. I don't know if it's the oft-discussed 6khz spike or what, but k812 just seems more transparent and natural. The more intimate soundstage helps, I suppose, but K1000 also pulled decidedly ahead of HD800 on piano and in no way has a smaller soundstage.
Maybe the voicing is just a little better for this use case.
Salks have arrived. Weirdly, they didn't require a signature - apparently a neighbor buzzed them in and they were left inside the building gate. Thankfully we got someone to take them into the lobby within an hour or so. Will be unpacking and setting up on Saturday.
Holy Schiit. The Salks are amazing. The richness, depth, and clarity is just shocking. First thing we played was Karajan Walküre, second act. Planning to show off to friends this weekend.
It is if you call in sick Friday. Is it Saturday already on the west coast??
That's a tough room to work with. OTOH, it's also a beautiful room so it's somewhere on the crazy-hot spectrum I thinkPlacement could be better, but it's a work in progress.
Very nice
Placement could be better, but it's a work in progress.
