500+ Head-Fier
I was just thinking the other day a completely unbalanced and therefore cheaper Yggy would be nice.
Only nerds use balanced.

Lol! I’m about a mile from Merle Haggard drive… And two-ish from Buck Owens drive. Not my thing, but ymmv… But I will say that the episode of the Ken Burns Country Music documentary on the ‘Bakersfield Sound’ was interesting.Merle Haggard - oh hell yes! Who are those other folks?
Why?My concept for a Gungnir 2 is a Yiggy minus balanced outputs, plus the best SE outputs Schiit can make, plus Unison, plus Autonomy, in a smaller chassis/footprint, priced head-to-head with the Chord Qutest.
Assuming that Gungnir stays around the same price point, balanced is pretty much a requirement otherwise it isn't going to sell.My concept for a Gungnir 2 is a Yiggy minus balanced outputs
Modius is also a DAC. Do you mean Magnius?Had a thought — putting my old vali 1 between my bifrost og and my forthcoming modius, to add warmth. Could also use a sys and some splitters to toggle.
Sounds like BifrostMy concept for a Gungnir 2 is a Yiggy minus balanced outputs, plus the best SE outputs Schiit can make, plus Unison, plus Autonomy, in a smaller chassis/footprint, priced head-to-head with the Chord Qutest.
Did you end up replacing the speakers? Mind you I am going from Klipsch bookshelves in a cubical room to the Walsh 1000s, but they should be here Monday/Tuesday next week. Modi -> Freya S -> Vidars (Yggy is still on backorder) using a VolumioPi with Pi2AES output if it matters.Yes I do, lol.
It is called BiFrost2@Baldr Could you please throw us some teases about the future of Gungnir? When will we see it available in black finish?
My wish list would be for it to become your ultimate single-ended DAC, going head-to-head with the Chord Qutest. Sort of like a Yiggy with a smaller footprint. What do you think?
