Got my first HomePod. Sounds like schiit next to my airmotiv 4S fed by bifrost and mjolnir. Another is coming but not going to see my living room rig challenged

Oh I was too cheap to spring for the $2.5k speakers that @Ableza recommended. And they would be hard given the weird geometry of the kitchen.

The apartments are coming down in price because of the pandemic exodus - much more of the service sector than tech, despite the well publicized stories about tech workers working from idyllic cabins - but still are not what one would call affordable.

I could not even think of a more poor, simplistic and stupid argument than that really. It didn't sold, but it was because of the DSD option of course, LOL. And then all the rest of cheap topping smsl denafrips, etc DAC's that sell a lot and have DSD?
Yes, that's exactly what happened. Loki was a DSD-only dac and nobody wanted it. As for topping smsl etc Is their only selling point the fact that they support DSD?

I think for some/most it is. It fills all the checkboxes to make it truly buzzword compliant. No DSD, no sale, just like 32/384 DXD and MQA.

For some people probably but I was referring to the counterpoint provided by the previous guy that if nobody cares about dsd then why do dacs that list it as one of many supported technologies sell
