OMG

A fifty buck tube and a 15 buck adapter with a 170 buck amp.  Pardon the shameless promo but this is stupid - really works from the Memphis Jug Band to Nickel Creek.  Can't wait to get 'em in my MJ2.  Faaawk!!!  (Don't try it w/o the adapter)

I love the background! Have always been a sucker for bookshelves stuffed to the brim with books that have been read. Schiit has probably just won another customer.

Oh I was there, but I was never interested in the depressed droning of Floyd.

Who said that it all had to be transcendental?

Some of that schiit was seriously mindnumbing.

He's talking about using a socket adapter in order to use a tube that the Vali 2 amp doesn't normally work with.

Thanks!

Does this adapter work for 12AX7's ?

I guess that would depend on whether there are electrical circuits in the adapter (as opposed to just allowing a different number of pins).

I know that some do not like 12AX7s, but others do (such as Steve Hoffman), and the early 1960s German 12AX7s are relatively easy to get, especially in singles, and are very three-dimensional on real stereo recordings (such as can be found for classical music).
