IMHO - the top 4 Classical composers are Bach, Beethoven, Handel and Mozart - who are a level above everyone else.
(Yeah, I do like Wagner's RIng and many other composers - just not as much.)
Of course, YMMV. (Mozart is a bit of an acquired taste - only after listening to a lot of music do you realize how amazingly perfect his tunes are.)

IMNSHO you're wrong.
Besides, Mozart really is famous for the ease of which the listener can hear his genius.

Yeah, but others inform me of wonderful spdif sound with spun silver disks.

That works for me: Oppo BDP-93 > Iggy. Done. Plays DVD-A's also, for those Hi Res situations.

What exactly is a "Bit Clock, Word Clock, and Data" connection, I don't think I ever seen one?
You haven't seen it because it is non-standard, closed loop, non-universal, connection method between digital sources which are traits shared with I2S. It just happens to be a much better sounding protocol than I2S, which seems to be a jholy grail for those who have no experience with BWD.

Thanks Mike, this is great insight into the history of things :) How does USB-Gen 5 talk to the DAC section? I2S or S/PDIF?

Would it make sense to have perhaps USB-Gen6 that takes USB input, properly isolated and connect to the main DAC section using BWD?
BWD or I2S internally, according to the product.

Wow... don't you ever sleep?

If it is the music-improving device that has to come in between my network player and Yggy or Yggy and Ragnarok, please let it have balanced in and out.
I promise you sleep assisting milk, honey and moonshine on that desert island.

This is great news! Fantastic. Each year keeps getting more elucidating. It's a Schiit load of fun to implement.

Mike take care if those brain cells and keep it coming:beerchug:

So plugging cables in and out of this holy grail digital connection method eventually leads to problems.

Would it be better to offer a CD transport/DAC all in one, or deal with the fragile connection and attempt not to change it often?

Also, if CDs begin to make a renaissance (the vinyl renaissance has shown signs of peaking a couple years ago) would you ever consider making your own transport with that delicate flower connector?

It would make more sense to include all in one music server with the DAC rather than a CD transport.
A cheap black & white 3-5" TN LCD panel with a removable HDD solt & some interface to read & play music.
