I saw these on the web.

I cannot get them here in Europe but they LOOK beautiful.
I would sit behind my schiit just to adore them.

Nice! I will have basically the same cables made by Amplifier Surgery in Illinois.

Yes, I like balanced better but differences are subtle to my ears, and I'm still evaluating. Last month was get a handle on Utopia. This month I'm finally working on coming to grips with the whole Se/balanced business just for my own satisfaction. I'll post back what I end up deciding.

While I do believe Ragnarok is and will be their statement SS pre-amp for the foreseeable future (with maybe a minor mod or two offered down the road), I think MJ2 was their best solution to a Tube HP amp at the time of design. The fact that they were able to throw in the LISST's as a bonus was also a plus. Given that they built Saga/Freya around the sound of 6SN7 type tubes there must be some attraction to the sound there, they could have just used the 6DJ8 type again for their initial 2 channel pre-amp offerings. It's reasonable to imagine Mike tinkering with 6SN7's in a tube HP amp design, statement or otherwise. May never see the light of day or come to fruition as a product but...

As I understood it, the tubes Jason used for Freia and Saga were excellent except for the fact of their noisiness. For that reason, it would be challenging to use them in the quiet environments that headphone amps require.

Well then, that would make sense. I've got 10 + matched pairs of 6DJ8 types for my MJ2 and their all dead quiet.

This brings up a good point.  I've been thinking about running a Saga > Jot.  It's a matter of desktop space and flexibility.  I wouldn't run it as a 2-channel set, but wouldn't want to rule it out.  It boils down to the balance out to the HPs.  The MJ2 would be ideal, but it's too big.  There's a ton of Lyr2s up for grabs, but I lose the XLR.

Now I need to think on the possibility of noisier-then-necessary tube choices...

  Oohh... that reminds me...
I am searching for Socket Savers (extenders) for my 6N1P, 6N6P and 6BZ7 tubes.
Just I because I like the looks of it.
They're for my Valhalla 2 and Mjolnir 2
(Hope Jason doesn't read this)

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Do a search on eBay.

I did but it confuses me. I'm sorry.

Try a search under "Tubemonger", that's where I got mine for 6DJ8 types. Not sure if they have savers for the type you want but check them out.

Thank you.
I ordered the last 3 pairs.
This ones can be screwed apart so I can fill them with macro molecule, left turning snake oil pearls.
