A suggestion to Mike about The Manhattan as a product.

Since is to be a processor placed between the computer and DAC, can we have other than only a USB output? Maybe an AES/EBU, SPDIF coax, and optical?

Thx

If manhattan is between source and dac, it sounds like it could also convert digital to digital, i.e., the mythical ethernet to AES/EBU that hitherto we've turned to that Dante box for. Or USB-coax, etc.

Not sure if this would result in sonic improvements.

Mike already added a "buy better gear" light to Yggy. Seems like a "listen to better music" light is the natural evolution.

Really amazing technology would have:
* the "buy better gear" light,
* the "buy better music" light,
* a "drink better beer" light,
* a "get better friends" light, and
* a "the dog wants to go out" light.

Or perhaps an automatic shut-down with a light that says "Your music is not music. This device will self destruct in 30 seconds. Good bye".

Wagner...well, OK. Always thought he was a one-hit wonder.

He's not all I need. But -- whatever floats your boat!

It's not reading my mind, it's reading the relevant post...

@Baldr: I'm busy playing with the (sadly) abandoned AT&T fiber that you cleverly implemented back in the days. Ordered a AT&T 1361 RX to add ST input to my Basic IIIa (and potentially GenV) and the matching 1261 TX for the Hifiberry Digi+Pro.
I'm sure you know what I'm referring to, here

Ha! You even made things really easy by providing a DIP-16 socket and the associated decoupling circuitry on the Basic IIIa

I just needed to plug in the RX. No fun
