It's all about synergy. With my W3 I much prefer the comply tips over the star tips. So they aren't the be all end all. It depends on your set-up.

It's all about synergy. The UM3X is VERY smooth, a bit soft and a bit rolled off up top so the silicone tips bring back a needed sharpness and crispness and increased clarity.  Really a perfect combo.  But with my W3  it already has those feature and the silicone tips make it overkill so I much prefer the comply tips.  So it depends on your set-up and the signature of the IEM.

So I noticed my Sansa seems to be struggling to power these... particularity the bass. Do you guys think an amp like the Fiio e6 paired with my sansa would be beneficial? Because I know im already getting one for Christmas

Also I was reading a suggestion on the Sansa Clip + appreciation thread and found that with all stock EQ and sound settings but changing the low shelf to 7(or six)/112/.7   (boost/cutOff/q)  this sounds very nice!

So when I bought my UM3Xs they didnt come with the fancy cases and tips and such... Ive been bumming my Westone UM1 case and tips which is fine, not a problem. Family have been asking me what I want for Christmas... and this caught my eye and I think its super cool

It comes with some fancy ear lotion and some sort of dehydrator or something. Also the cool pelican 1010 case which would fit my headphones and sansa perfectly in it with the other stuff too.   Whatcha guys think?

You really only need lubricant for customs, and you probably don't need the desiccant pack unless you live in a very humid environment or sweat a lot when wearing your monitors (e.g. on stage).

Seems kinda pricey for such a small case. SKB's larger pistol cases are around that price. I would imagine something that much smaller should be at most in the mid 20s.

I did get my Fiio and the um3x combined with the fiio and sansa is an amazing concept. The fiio adds some impact to the bass but also strengthens the rest of the spectrum.

I have um3x and fiio... Sounds damn good. But I prefer my w4r with the fiio x3
