Westone UM1 vs. Shure se215??

I've never really had any confort problems with IEMs and between the shures and westones, it's just going good to great. For now, I'm pretty much decided on the 215s as I keep encountering everybody commenting on how great the sound is and on its oustanding value.

Both are good. It all depends on what you listen to and what you are looking for in sound signature.

I'm going to try to buy the Shures locally today, and if I can't I'll probably just order a pair on Amazon. From what I've been reading the sound  signature seems too good for its price.

The thread below definitely pointed me in the right direction.

Both great entry level IEMs (Yes I know there are Mee M6 and other very affordable IEMs)! Can't go wrong with either ones, unless you have a very specific criteria. I remember my first UM1s a looonnng time ago and heck, I still have the SE215s! The bass is really enjoyable on the SE215s btw!

Vocal&Newage&Folk: UM1
Pop&Rock&Electronic Guitar: SE215 (the electronic guitar sounds really good after run-in)
but if you don't mind "s" sounds, GR06 is better than UM1 (based on vocals music)
sorry for my poor English...

I started just like you.

I wanted the SE215 and people said that there was a lot better for the price such as the RE-400 or EPH-100.
I soon wanted the BA200 for around $150 that compared to IEMs that are around $300 people said.
The Westone 3 went on sale for only $179 (still on Amazon) and bought it. For only $60 more you can get a 3 driver IEM that is much better.

Shure se215 is the first shure earphones I had, they are very comfortable and seems to be well built, but I did not like the sound quality at all. I had to put on bass reduction to be able to listen to them, the bass just over powers everything. For $99 I believe there are other options like the wonderful Creative aurvana ie3 and the westone um1 or w1.

One thing I noticed the 215's have more bass than any single BA that I have demoed of late.

the se215 uses dynamic drivers. um1 or w1 uses BA
