who knows if the new potentiometer will have an impact on the sound
who knows if the new potentiometer will have an impact on the sound
… for an ‘ultrafirst’ world problem …I updated my previous post, apparently the more realistic estimate is for a late December delivery. The list of upgrades has grown and will thus take some time to fully implement.
As for the potentiometer, I suspect it will make a small but worthwhile impact on the sound. But also offer a **quality of life improvement** for those who disliked the relay noise of the OG version.
I know, I have the 4.4 to XLR adapter. It would be nice to not need it. Not enough reason to upgrade of course, but I've always thought having two 6.3 connections is pretty irrelevantHi, for me having the Pentacon 4.4 isn't that important, adapters are sold. It's nice to know that the amplifier circuit hasn't changed, it means that the amplifier is truly excellent and is fully appreciated by the audiophile community.

I understand the 4.4 in the new V281, they want it to last forever and have everything on it w/o using adapters or anythingIn classic V281, I like not having the 4.4mmpentagrampentaconn. I enjoy comparing headphones via the two 6.3mm TRS connections.
I thought they were supposed to be out of phase? In classic V281, I like not having the 4.4mmpentagrampentaconn. I enjoy comparing headphones via the two 6.3mm TRS connections.
The left TRS is 180 degrees out of phase. So if I look directly away from V281 while listening, this should offset …I thought they were supposed to be out of phase?
So you're not talking about left and right channels reversed correct? More or less each driver zigs when it would otherwise zag? Apologies in advance for using the highly technical verbiageThe left TRS is 180 degrees out of phase. So if I look directly away from V281 while listening, this should offset …
