Wait, so does the FW10K sound as sharp as the Focal Utopia to you?

No, but has the details, the 10000 has fuller mids, hard tight bass punch.Wait, so does the FW10K sound as sharp as the Focal Utopia to you?
I'm referring to the literal strength of the sound. Sharp, piercing, goes after your ears, etc.

So it's not as sharp as the Focal Utopia. It's tolerable, balanced enough?

Correct, thats why I bought two jvcs and didnt buy the Utopia. So it's not as sharp as the Focal Utopia. It's tolerable, balanced enough?
I thought you sold it because you like full-size headphones?

Correct I bought the jvcs cause it sounded like a full size headphone. My plan was to use the jvcs when I didnt want to take the headphones out. I tell you this if jvc makes a 10000 headphone Ill biy two right now. Im lazy, I like plopping a headphone on my head, so I sold all my iems. The 10000 os the only iem I would use if I had to use an iem.I thought you sold it because you like full-size headphones?

Hour 408: the FW10000’s Bass is damn good, even with the single-ended connection and powered by the SU-AX01. On par with the balanced FW01 if not slightly ahead because of how amazingly tight and low it gets. The sound is that much more complete and just insane.
They’re energetic as hell though. Voices and instruments can at times get a little too sharp for comfort. It’s a sharpness that really jumps out at you. Swapping the cable tames it.
Are you using the FD01 in stock form or with a mod to tame the 3-5kHz region?
I found them to be quite bright, even brighter than the FD02 and I use those with a Micropore mod.

FW10000, not FD01. I don’t have that earphone. The balanced cable takes away some of the bite of the FW10000’s sound.

How you guys keep the filter clean? I cleaned my ear frequency however there’s still wax and sometimes stick on the filter. Thought of soaking the tip end in peroxide but wondering if there’s any better way.

My bad - you were comparing the FW10000 with FW01, and I read FD01.... Thanks for clarifyingFW10000, not FD01. I don’t have that earphone. The balanced cable takes away some of the bite of the FW10000’s sound.

Now at 456 hours, I decided to take these to work for daily use. I’m discovering that they are damn near unlistenable for many of my songs, because of the bass that has taken a backseat to this tack sharpness that gets fatiguing real fast. At one point it was fantastic, and right now it sounds closer to what I hear from my AirPods rather than the FW01 as the spec would suggest. Yes, this is all with the balanced cable.
To sum it up: for what the balanced FW10000 does better than the balanced FW01 (soundstage and positioning), they are not enough of a step forward. And for what they don’t do as well (bass performance; vocal presence) they are too much of a step backwards.
They are not leaps and bounds better than the FW01 from what I’m hearing right now, and I don’t believe that it’s a good idea to purchase them without being able to audition them prior. Listening to them right now makes me miss the FW01 back at the house, but I’m going to give them a fair shake.

Sound like SPC balanced cable. Try copper based cable.

Is there a specific one you recommend?
