V-MODA M-100: Discussion/Feedback, Reviews, Pics, etc.

Have someone tried dirac apps? It would be nice if v-moda partnered with dirac to release a v-moda dirac optimized app for m-100, m-80 and LP series...
Dirac do some frequency optimization but also time domain and phase optimization tailored to a specific headphone to compensate for physical shortcomings so it's not a simple equalizer.
Some manifacturers have started to do that like nuforce (http://www.nuforce.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=660:nuforce-hd-player-using-dirac-technology), t-jays (http://www.jays.se/curves) which released their own paid apps in partnership with dirac. I listened to earpods with dirac on and the sound is outstanding, really enjoyable and a great experience... Imagine what dirac could do with v-moda headphones...
I really think Val should consider it...

I had a dream where I was using the V-moda m100 last night. That's about all I can remember, but yeah. The built-like-a-tank factor and eye catching design are definitely cool. I just wish they could the sennheiser momentum driver inside of one, because I think a headphone that's designed to just deliver good bass is stupid, which is why I'll probably not try one.

It's odd that you mentioned NuForce, as I am a big fan of their ICON Mobile AMP/DAC.  Too bad they discontinued the thing as I really think they should make a new version of it.

I’m very disappointed with V-moda right now, I just received my M100 from ups. With an additional charge of $94.18, with all taxes and shipping totalled up I paid $445.47 for a pair of M100s, If I would have known I was going to pay almost $450 I wouldn’t have gotten these.

Blame the government.

Did you get with customs or something? Otherwise, shouldn't you know the price of what you're buying?

V-MODA ships via USPS by default, so he must have paid for 2 or 1-day shipping, plus he may be living where V-MODA has an office and got local taxes.

I ordered them last Tuesday, June 11th with standard shipping to Canada ($21), I thought I might have to pay customs since it was crossing the border but it wasn’t even customs fee. I’ve already emailed V-moda and I’m not opening them unless I get reimbursed a little, if anything I’m just going to send them back. Really disappointed, I was really looking forward to using them.

Just to clarify, you are judging the sound of a headphone you never heard???

P.S. I returned Momentum and continue to enjoy the full range of sound, along with standout bass performance, that the  M-100 provides.

Yeah, I got slapped with $52 something in import duties, it blew. I wonder why yours were so high though? I live in NS and we've got 15% tax here, no where else is any higher.

Ha, I also got the iBasso D42 recently, marked as USB Soundcard on the box with a $25 declared value. DHL charged $19.77 import duties and brokerage fees... Now the device did actually have a value of $188, but they didn't know that. It's highway robbery...

I'm somewhat confused. Not familiar with the fees and duty of your country, could you please detail out the breakdown of the costs and by whom?
