Anyone try the Astell & Kern HC4? I'm extremely curious of how it compares to something like the Cayin RU7 or Hiby FC6. Being it costs $400 Aud and the other two go for $480 Aud. The HC4 is more simple in design though, no screen maybe to cut costs but focus on sound? One user said he prefers it over the RU7 and compared to the Questyle M15, the HC4 seems to sound more musical, detailed, smoother and larger with better soundstage and imaging.
An IEM with incredible qualities for its price of only 175 euros... and also for much higher prices. If you want to give your dongles a stellar IEM, don't miss it. Easy to drive but at the same time with an impedance that does not put any dongle into difficulty, even those with not very low background noise.
Really excellent!!!
PULA PA02.
Did you test out DSD with this unit on your iphone 15? That has been a troublesome combination for me. Only one of my dongles works so far in this scenario so I am trying to figure out what else works with the USB C iphones and DSD. It would be great if this $29 solution works.
A very pleasant discovery with a Akliam PD7 DAC dongle. I appreciate portability and, soundwise, this is proving to be a pretty good implementation of Realtek ALC5658...
Differently from others ALC5658 implementation this has depth, a fair share of energy and power output and it proving to be nicely energy efficient.

I bought it out of Aliexpress ... the form factor is incredibly convenient. The Realtek DAC comes also in a straight form factor and for 2.4 and 4.4 mm jacks
To be noted that there is also a Cirrus Logic based DAC with the rame form factor. I have just stated testing it, way less powerful, as energy efficient as this one, more airy and with a bit larger soundstage.
Will post pics of that one in a minute.
Another pretty good sounding discovery. Another conveniently shaped and sized DAC. Akliam. PD6 has a Cirrus Logic CS43131 with, what I may guess to be a separate amp chip. Sounds pretty good too, with less power output (compared to the Realtek model) but with a wider soundstage.
To my great surprise, it is also very energy efficient and does not impact any meaningfully my phone charge duration despite sounding in quality well above its form factor.
