USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Since it is a dongle with current amplification, the IEMs that benefit most from the M15 are the planar ones such as the Letshuoer S12 PRO, it is understood that the first use for a dongle (M15 included) is the one with the IEMs. So all IEMs will be delighted to be powered by the M15, the only thing to pay attention to is adjusting the volume and gain before starting the music (especially under Windows). It is good practice to start from zero volume and then bring it to the desired level.
Thank you:)

I present a mod for any dongle that can pull out its true soul, and to the smartphone not to wear out the battery. The mod in question was designed, made and refined by giuca70 an Italian friend of mine also present here on Headfi. The pieces for the realization are two which can be reached an optional third.
The first is a type c usb hub that allows the dongle’s exclusive power supply and physically separates the current from the data.
The second is a large capacity power bank and the third is an RJ45 type C network adapter.
The purpose of this mod is to prevent the charging of the smartphone during its use as a streamer, power the dongle in a powerful and clean (power-bank), physically divide the current from the data (usb hub) and do not use wifi to download music through streamer (usb rj45). Here is a photo that explains how to connect the whole, below the three pieces needed.

These are the three pieces you need to make it:

Hi, seems like a pretty brilliant idea. But I am confused. Can I stream qobuz bit perfect, Wi-Fi, this way? - Using USP audio player Pro or HIBY music.

Absolutely nothing changes in terms of settings... leave everything as it is as long as there is the hub and the power bank between the streamer (mobile phone/tablet) and the dongle. It's an improvement that concerns the management of the current, not the software...
P.S. From the photo you can see how the connection is made.

I thought I replied already but maybe I didn't...
Your set up with the adapter and the battery charger looks pretty brilliant but I'm confused. I want to be able to stream from qobuz or Tidal using USB audio player Pro or HIbY music player, bit perfect, over Wi-Fi . Am I able to do that with this system, just as I can straight from my phone into the dongle ? What I do now is I put my phone on airplane mode and only tap the Wi-Fi antenna and go straight into a dongle other than battery life I'm not sure how much I would gain by doing this but if I would lose Wi-Fi or anything else it's not for me

You can continue doing what you were doing peacefully... the phone will recognize the dongle via the hub regularly...

Hi. I just tried the mod because I think it sounds like a great idea, even though I'm not using the gear from your links but I managed to found a Ugreen USB Hub in my local store with the same layout like yours, a couple short USB cables and a 10k Power Bank which served me well for almost a year. I pulled the King of Hiss in the dongle realm (in my opinion) the Earmen Sparrow, a pair of iem's through the balanced jack and I'm getting a lot of noise (EMI noise?). Not sure if I'm doing something wrong or maybe there's some problem with the hardware but I'm doing an update after trying more dongles and iem's to see where is going wrong.

P.D. I'm also trying the mod using my computer to see if I can eliminate the noise which I sometimes get.

Hi, you have to be careful that the hub does not carry power to the PC... because the computer's USB must not be powered. This is why I put that specific type of hub, otherwise you can only use it from a mobile phone/tablet.
The connection sequence of the mod is this:
1) connect the power bank to the hub
2) connect the hub to your mobile phone/tablet
3) connect the dongle to the hub
Please note: The hub I pointed out to you is not just any hub, but has a current filter for the streamer, a port dedicated to the power input (powerbank) and all the ports are compatible with IOS/Android/Windows and with bandwidth from 10Gbps on all ports.
P.S. Hiss most likely depends on the connection or type of hub you are using.

Looking for suggestions for USB-C DAC with dual 3.5mm and 4.4mm ports, under $100. Thanks in advance.

Hello,

i want to buy the Sennheiser IE600 for using it with an iphone and want to ask which dongle you would buy? The Ibasso DC04 would be good but it is very limited in combination with Apple. So it doesn't make sense. I want to change the volume in smaller steps and not with this big 16 steps volume from the iphone. It is better to change the volume seperately.

My ideas:

Fiio Q3 --> cheap, but a bit big and you have a knob or wheel and not 2 buttons. I think the last option is better to change the volume exactly.
Moondrop Dawn Pro --> very cheap, small and hardware buttons. Maybe the best dongle for a dynamic iem?

One question: Does an Iphone Pro Max limit the power of the Dawn Pro or are these days over? I read some months ago that the iphone will limit the dongle. Is this correct? Even with the Pro Max? But if yes I think with the sennheiser there won't be a disavantage because of this limit from the iphone?
