USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

If I may ask, how much of a difference these two (ours and that LPSU) make versus USB power? Just curious :)

On PC setup, more clarity from darker/less noisy background ? I like music to "pops" and it does so.

Just to add, I also have idefender+ from not too shabby oladra upgraded Antipodes cx+ex stack and had demo-ed many a time to friends on how it too makes music "pops" ... even with extravagant Shunyata Sigma usb cable since I cannot avoid cabling there while being a believer of no cable is best cable.

Updated: I am only using LT3045 module and does not have separate ifi 5v lps to compare

Cheers.

Thanks a lot and that's the feedback we've been getting. Cleaner background makes all sound sources to pop more indeed, so your observations are a spot on. Enjoy!

Its the dimensity chipset: if you have a jack 3.5, the only dac that will work is the one with the jack. I have the gt neo first gen (dimensity 1200) and any dongle dont work with it...

This is not true at least for some Dimensity chipsets: I have a phone (OnePlus Ace Racing Edition) with Dimensity 8100-Max & 3.5 jack, and external dongles work without any problems. Maybe the problem is on a software side - I use Neutron.

Yes the new revision from mediatek (8100/8200) now can handle usb configuration midi, still there is issue with 1100/1200...

It has sweeter notes. Is what I noticed. And that it has more separate sounding instrumentation. And that the bass is tamer tho more correct. I'd say a more mature dc03. While the Dc03 is kinda childish and playful, this one is the more mature/adult approach to music. I find it having more holographic sound too. Kinda hard to explain but overall I feel like revisiting all my music with this one more. Every music i try, I notice something different. Tho hard to explain in words 🤣 probably it's the more hifi thing kicking in.

I really love my DC03Pro. It's the only under-$100 dongle that I've heard so far that pulls off the difficult trick of sounding clean and clear without letting any artificial brightness or harshness creep in. Kudos to iBasso for achieving this in such a compact, efficient and inexpensive package. Plus, it works like a charm with no connectivity issues or RFI noise when I use it with my iPhone. I just wish there was an option to be able choose between using it's built-in volume control or using the phone's volume control. I know iBasso has an app for Android devices that allows this (and many other things), but there's nothing for iOS. But it's not a deal-breaker for me.

And the DC04Pro looks like its going to be the balanced version of the DC03Pro.

I'll definitely be picking one up as soon as they hit Amazon US.
