Anyone know what dac they're using in the S1?
AK4377, the same thing like in some mid-grade audiophile smartphone like vivo x series and in dap fiio m5.

Audirect Beam 2
The most powerful type C DAC with both 3.5 mm and 2.5 mm balanced out. It also support MQA decoding. Overall natural sounding and works with both android and IOS.

I have Atom and Beam2 amazing usb c DACS Beam 2 can nicely drive my HD650 with a lots of headroom and has 2.5mm balanced with lots of power. I use modified firmware with light only showing 3seconds like that it nice and cosy night listening.

Does it need to paid extra apps like "ztella" to perform the MQA?
I use app on Android mobile called UAPP= usb audio player pro, small pay for app and small pay for MQA. In my opinion totally worth it. I use it for years now. On PC I use Audirvana also need pay for it one time. On PC I also use time to time original Tidal app for Windows 10 and this one is free with you monthly subscription for TIDAL. MQA is perfectly working for USB C DAC I have in Android mobile or PC.
