Thanks for explaining had no IDEA, I just by default thought that NOS was the best option on a DAC/AMP. Now I learned something newWhy would they pick NOS?? Most DACs on the market over sample with no NOS option whatsoever, and as far as I know D/S chips can’t do true NOS anyway because they have to convert the signal to 1-bit for processing. Filter 1 is linear fast, which is likely to be the most pleasing for the most amount of people. A NOS emulator filter would not be most people’s preferred choice.

Everytime I connect the DC04 Pro and proceed to allow exclusive use by UAPP there is a considerable hiss spike. Anyone else experience this?

The iFi Blu was great, but perhaps too accurate for my main purpose which is for the IE600. I wanted just a bit of warmth and a tad more low end - I chatted up Bloom Audio and they recommended the Questyle M12 - and they were right. This is perfect for the IE600 to me. Returning the Blu now.

Sorry I meant to say iFi Go Link not the Blu.Interesting, I find the Questyle DACs horribly bright.
I find the M12 goes well with the IE600 more than that iFi Go Link, because it is definitely warmer than the Go Link.
Ladies and gentlemen, a bold statement to follow but I think that this is the best value USB DAC dongle below $100.

Other than the build quality complaint, all those cons you list sound like pros to me!Ladies and gentlemen, a bold statement to follow but I think that this is the best value USB DAC dongle below $100.

btw it was not just Bloom Audio support who advised me the M12 being a bit warm, in the customer reviews I read on multiple sites, when people did mention the temperature of this dongle, they all said it leaned warm.
I guess that you don't care about MQA and you don't like analytical and resolving soundOther than the build quality complaint, all those cons you list sound like pros to me!

It is difficult to say without doing a direct comparison.
