Why would they pick NOS?? Most DACs on the market over sample with no NOS option whatsoever, and as far as I know D/S chips can’t do true NOS anyway because they have to convert the signal to 1-bit for processing. Filter 1 is linear fast, which is likely to be the most pleasing for the most amount of people. A NOS emulator filter would not be most people’s preferred choice.
The iFi Blu was great, but perhaps too accurate for my main purpose which is for the IE600. I wanted just a bit of warmth and a tad more low end - I chatted up Bloom Audio and they recommended the Questyle M12 - and they were right. This is perfect for the IE600 to me. Returning the Blu now.

btw it was not just Bloom Audio support who advised me the M12 being a bit warm, in the customer reviews I read on multiple sites, when people did mention the temperature of this dongle, they all said it leaned warm.
