USB-C to 3.5mm adapters (DAC) - Let's find the best

Hello!
I'm very much a newcomer in this world so I apologize in advance if this question belongs somewhere else.
Looking for a dac that works well with spotify, and have support for iem three button remote. Just want something as hassle free as possible, but with ok sound quality. Using a lg g7 with 1more triples atm but will probably be using a oneplus 7 pro, since the lg is in a horrible condition, and would appreciate if it didn't kill the battery too fast. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Wanting a DAC that has call functionality is going to limit you on quality, and about none will sound better than g7 DAC. you'll want to look into one of the Hidizs Sonata DACs. The hd 2 or the new S3. Both come as 24/48 max quality allowing call function. You can change the quality with a computer but you lose call ability. Available on Amazon.

Thanks for the reply, great to know about the 24/48 and mic functionality! Do you, or anyone else, know if the razer dongle will work? Heard it's quite ok quality and a bit cheaper than the hidizs ones.

Have a Razer phone 2. Better than Google DAC, but not as good or powerful as Hidizs Sonata HD.

Oh really? That doesn't sound to good to me, would that be the case with all usb c dacs if you want call functionality or just the sonata?
Do you know if the razer one works with other phones as well?
Razer DAC isn't Razer phone specific. It's about this the device implements USB-C. On Android audio is resampled to 16/48 or 24/48, depending on the device.

Ok, so if i want call functionality it will always be 16/48, no matter which dac I use? Sorry if im a bit slow!
Most DACs don't allow call functionality, however those that do, it will certainly be either 16/48 or 24/48, depending on the phone/DAC. THAT is the native sample rate of Android audio processing. Above that takes it out of the audio of the device. Same goes for iOS. The apple dongle or cipher cable are 24/48, and allow call function. Anything above that is sound only because it's not handled by the OS. However, on Android, unless you are in a music player that has its on drivers, all music will be resampled to 48khz by Android audio drivers

Ah, I see! Do you think that the difference between apple and other more high-end dacs that has microphone support, like the hidizs hd, then would be significant? Or would I be off fine with the apple one? Sorry for hijacking the thread, hopefully this will be of importance to others as well!

Hidizs sounds better than Apple DAC, even without switching to the HD software on it.

Ok, thanks a lot! Do you know any other options than hidizs that might be worth looking into?
Honestly, no. Plenty of dongles on Amazon, but all unknown, on the cheap. Hidizs is known and decent quality. $42 is a good price for a quality dongle. Razer is $24.

This person wants call functionality available. That's why I gave those two recommendations.
