Now considering the 'cool new' dual CS43131 dac $60 DC03 (because DC02 was popular), a new under $35 (taobao) SHDP with CS43131, and E1DA 9038D ($100).
E1DA 9038D is a marvel, and all the data/internals are free to view. And there's the app.
DC03 might get similar sound with SHDP, after all, can they mess CS chips up? But no massive benefit of having two chips!
SHDP isn’t defeated for price, but the best audio quality+measurements is E1DA 9038D. And DC03 dual CS43131 DACs sounds like cool specs to the layperson, but we must wait for audio quality+measurements to be re-tested. It would be interesting to see how it sounds relative to many other CS43131 dongles, of which SHDP is the main contender due to its great ASR (as Hidizs S8) measurements in early 2020 under no load.
As always, some people don't mind Apple USB-C dongle limited to 24/48 using a custom CS46L06 chip, which is powerful, measures alright, and is $9-15 anywhere in the world?!
I got E1DA 9038S gen3 and I think it's really really good. Wayy better than the Meizu dac pro. My iems gives a more detailed, open sound and it is smoother, less fatiguing at the same time.
