Ultrasone Pro 900 Impressions Thread

Now that I have both the Sig Pro and the Pro900, I appreciate the Ultrasone quality.  The Pro900 gives a kick butt carry case, with spare pads, removable cable that I swap out at times for a V-Moda audio only, and the comfort is really good.  Actually, it's fairly more comfortable than the Sig Pro..............both the ear pads and the headband leave something to be desired on the Sig Pro's.  And the cable on the Sig Pro, though removable, is not swappable with my V-Moda cable.  Wish it was................

Wish I could have the best of both - the thumping bass of the Pro900, ear pads, comfort added to the Sig Pro overall sound.  The Pro900 is darn close to the Sig Pro from this perspective - it's a more fun sound with the bass hitting harder.

Crazy talk, I know..............but I at times prefer my Pro900's.

This is why I love my Pro 900's:

Using it with my iBasso D6 as DAC and JDS C421 with AD823A opamp, all FLAC through foobar with WASAPI.

Clearly the headphone you're after is the Ultrasone Signature DJ!

More bass than Sig Pro, with the same design and comfort. And they play LOUD.

That's what I thought, but two guys I know have both the Sigs and say the comfort is an issue with both and one of the two goes back and forth on which he thinks is better.

From a basshead perspective, is the DJ the king of the two?

Absolutely. But still doesn't touch the TH900. No contest.

The design and comfort on the Sig DJ and Sig Pro are identical.

Methinks you were right earlier about what I want/need/crave.

Now, how much better is a TH900 than a D7000?

That has been discussed at great length, and the general consensus is that the TH900 is considered to be a decided step up. The Sig Pro is reckoned to the D7000 moreso. Plenty of people preferred the SP to the D7000. The TH900 takes it all up a notch. I had a guy that owned the D7000 for a long time, and he liked my SP better than the D7000.

Edit: I love that you and I are having a conversation about the same headphones in about 3 or 4 places.

No, I really do love it. But I guess we will let these boys get back to their Pro 900 discourse.

Carry on gentlemen.

After seeing the great appreciation for Ultrasone Pro 900 cans, I ordered one online. I've a Fiio E17 for office use. In house, I use Beyerdynamic T1 cans with Aune T1. Do anyone have experience with Aune T1 Headphone amp/DAC? How is my new cans going to sound with that Aune T1. Hope I'll enjoy the combination :)

I have now made my Pro900 even better, more comfy and harder hitting in the bass department.

I put a pair of Mr Speakers Alpha pads on them by removing the original speed switch pair, cutting off the velour cover and foam padding, and glued on the Alpha pads to the ring.

Great comfort, better isolation and bass that is more pounding (never thought that was possible with these). This mod, paired with the HD650 headband mod, makes this phone just another notch up the overall comfort to rival some of my best. These are such good phones already, this just adds to the package.
