So I decided to play around with the 900S tips. Tried a smaller size soft rubber tip - and wow night and day difference! I kept going larger trying to get better isolation/seal the it struck me to go smaller.

I immediately felt the telltale "vacuum" for better word. I have been disappointed in bass. They are still not bass head OEM's but boy what wonderfully detailed and extended bass!!!
What do you mean by this? Using smaller tips for a deeper fit?

i dont know if i should buy the ue900s on amazon. I want something silky smooth mids and i heard they send out ue900 instead of the ue900s

I hate dull boring sound on my re 400 and i heard these and the re 400 sounds kinda the same
I had both. UE900 is a bit more emotional, but still more suited to analytical listening. The UE900s are too expensive for what they offer, though. 200-250 bucks would be a great price.

Deeper and better seal. I had been trying to force larger size in thinking it wold be better. I still get better isolation with Shure but I realize it was counterintuitive going larger tip for better fit with UE's. I can feel the vacuum/seal now when I insert them. And the softer rubber seems to do the trick - I'm not using the foam tips.

Cable is still intact though, so could probably clue the housing back together. This is the original non unibody version of the UE900.
Oh no! I'm sorry to see this has happened to you. I really hope you can fix it!!

I think it's possible to simply glue it back together as long as the small cable hasn't been damaged.
My used UE900 look like they were fixed this way before i bought them. Sound is great so i don't care.

Do you guys recommend these? I mainly listen to top hits and I also like some bass. I have used the se215s and they were good but I just wabt to try something new and have an upgrade. Something priced simular to the ue900 would be ideal. Less would be nice

UE900 is great, but makes a huge step towards a balanced signature from your se215, but it still has much bass :)
