I'm continuing to enjoy the Icarus III. I haven't gotten around to changing filters yet. I think tips should come first. They are a little bass-light with the purple filters. I think a tighter seal may help. I'll try that before changing the filters around. They are very comfortable and light, so they don't tend to fall out with a slightly smaller silicone tip than I normally use.

The purple filters have always never had any bass to my ears.

The Icarus III is better than the Master in many ways. More coherent, less congested, less fatiguing ...
Just couldn't get the Master sound to my liking and I have been through all the filters.

The Icarus is also lighter and looks better! Silver is just a bit too blingy!

Well, I gave in.
I'm not sure how I feel about it after all the fuss, LOL, but the temptation to just try the (possibly last) Trinity product fully tuned by Bob for £75 proved too much :rollseyes:
Simply, they look nice, probably will be fine for using for the gym and for podcasts at least.. and very easy to sell in my home market if I don't get on with them - after all the nonsense that has gone on, seems only fitting to get something for it!
Got my posted notification, so I'll check back in in maybe 2 weeks when they get delivered.
Still hope everything gets sorted out, mainly for the sake of all you guys who have been soooo patient throughout all this.
Edit: so refreshing to order one day, and get it sent out the next! Almost forgot what that was like.

Notice that the Icarus description is changed to aluminium shells - good news, IMHO.
And the last audio blog update has had the part about Bob leaving and Daniel taking over, removed. Wonder if this means anything??

I'm very curious about the III, should be arriving soon..been waiting since march ya know Lighter and smaller are also a plus. Will be selling one of them (Master/III) after testing I think, my Delta v2's serve me too well at work and I am not a fan of the bulky new cable system..

Im loving the icarus iii. I find the sound to be really enjoyable. Im using the gold undampened filter for the past week. Very happy with the performance. The fit is great for me.

I'm quite looking forward to hearing them, now that I know they're in the post and on the way.
Probably my last Trinity product, I can't justify buying at those new prices however good they are, but grabbing a pair for £75 will be a nice sayonara and I can spend more time over on the new "lounge" thread instead.

If there's one thing to take away, its that Head-Fi should not be trusted for any hype generating stuff because it seems its ok to get sponsorship but damn the users for getting suckered into this kind of waiting game without any responsibility from both Trinity and Head-Fi.

Yep, I'm sorry that has been happening to you. I waited, as have many others, and others continue to wait. It is 100% on Trinity. But IMO you can't blame Head-Fi because you bought something you found out about on this site. Head-Fi didn't hype up Trinity, users did.

OldDude04, I would really much like to think that Head-Fi is not at fault here but look at it this way, this thread is still on a Sponsor Announcement and Deals section of the forums, and there are still users asking for discount codes to use when they could have possibly be not aware of the situation that's unfolding. Plus the many many lurkers who may not even have an account at all just lurking around.

At this point, Head-Fi should drop them like a sack of hot potatoes based on the situation and really review this company's procedures instead of pretending nothing is happening.

But hey, who am I to say how the sponsorship should be run? All I know is that this is a expensive lesson learnt.

I can see where you're coming from. And maybe they should look into removing them as a sponsor in the future. My thinking on the purchase was along the lines of something like I couldn't blame NBC for seeing a commercial on their network and then buying something from that commercial. But at the same time, I guess I would hope NBC would remove ads for something that was this much of a debacle.
