You are looking to short-sided at this.
The product will not fail or be successful depending on the Kickstarter campaign or the early sales.
Bob is trying to establish a Portfolio for Trinity, so that he has a model in each of the Major Price and style brackets.
Yes, now beacuse of the Discount for preorder and the Kickstarter, it will seem like they are canibalizing their own share, but once they are all out this will settle down. And wheter a customer decides to go for a Hunter over a Master 6, wont hurt Trinity at all, as Long as he stays within the brand.
The strategy is smart, and not unlike what car companies do.
Bob wants you to stay at Trinity once you made your first plunge into hifi.
Delta and Sabre are a great Start.
The master 4 is another setp up, and then another with the Master 6.
Once you really want to go all out, instead of going somewhere else and spending your Money, Bob gives you the Option to stay with Trinity and go for the Hunter.
There are still lots of niches left to fill so im sure that once the lineup is done and Bob gets his over-ear dream done, he will start thinking about what other models we might see.
Didnt mean to write this much:
Yes the master 6 and hunter might take away from each others sales, but not significatly enough and for a short period to render one or the other as "not successful"
