Well I think you guys are looking at it wrong.  Isn't headphones/audio rehab?  That's how I see it.  It justifies my purchases, so yea... makes sense because it helps with stuff.  I had a bad day so.... yea... kickstarter joined for the PM6.

That was meant as a joke. Lets just leave it there. We are all driven by passion, not addiction. Not many people in this world care for quality music. We should all be proud of our hobby.

"1More's products is to represent music with "unrivaled precision". They teamed up with Luca Bignardi, a Grammy award winning sound engineer, on their products to create a house sound that focuses on a realistic balance between all frequencies. They claim to avoid the boosted extremes that other manufacturers products suffer from, giving you a sound that you can enjoy without having to crank the volume up to unhealthy levels."

So out of curiosity, who is the "Grammy award winning sound engineer" that Trinity is working with? Or any sound engineer for that matter.

Huh? Where does Trinity say that? 1More and Trinity are two different companies.

I was quoting an example from another company in how they design their products. Trinity does not state that, I never said they did. Who does Trinity work with?

You mean other than bobtrinity (who is an established audio engineer) and Brooko (who is a long standing member of the audiophile community).

No sure why they have to. I mean between themselves, can't they handle it. Is it customary in the headphone business to bring in external specialists to tune headphones?

Yes. When you add a "Grammy award winning sound engineer" and "German" to any product I can't imagine it being a bad thing. Sure they have their opinion what is good or not also but again they are not a grammy winner and a sound engineer for nothing.

Yes again as to me an "audiophile" member means little to nothing. It's just one person's preference of what they think an IEM or headphone should sound like. We all have our opinions really. Bob at least to me has more credentials as being a sound engineer etc.

Well, if they bring in an external specialist, thats still opinion of a single person. Not sure how that would improve the tuning. At least bobtrinity and Brooko are working together and I assume they are reaching some sort of consensus regarding SQ. To me, thats more reliable than a single person doing the tuning.

True but it's more people that are qualified and would agree.

Qualified = Years of schooling, certifications, designing, technical background, etc.

This is from Trinity's kickstarter page:

All of our development has been done in house and including members of the world renowned head-fi.org! 3 highly regarded members have been along for the development ride and have played a massive role in making sure that you, the end customer gets the absolute best!

1more's 'grammy award winning' thing is also related to marketing their triple driver IEM. They put it on every advertisement and website where they sell their products. From the reviews, their IEM sounds great, but not surprisingly amazing.

I believe, Bob fits that profile. I have the impression, most successful audio products are the brainchilds of just one specialist, with few others supporting and fine-tuning.

I'm sure several brands brought in "Grammy award winning audio engineers", and the two that come to mind first are Beats and Bose. Grammy award winning doesn't mean great sound, it just means they have a name behind their product now.
And I had a 2001 Volkswagen Passat. Trust me, "German engineered" didn't mean much there. XD
But it was a problem child to begin with. I knew it was going to have problems when I got it from an auction with a salvage title. :D
What I look at now when deciding on a product is company track record and objective reviews. Based on the track record and reviews of Trinity's previous products, I'd say it's a fair wager that the product line coming out now is going to be outstanding.
