Hi Head-fiers, I've been lurking around without an account for quite a couple months now and so I thought it's probably time I sign up. These forums are very informative and I've started quite an expensive hobby as a result. I own a couple pairs of BA IEMs, my favourites being the Westone 3s. I don't listen to dynamic drivers often and I was hoping some of you could give me insight of what you believe to be the TOP 3 DYNAMIC IEMs.

The two I'm particularly curious about are the Sennheiser IE8s and JVC HA-FX700.  If someone could give me a comparison between these two that would be great!

Thanks in advance!

The Sennheiser IE8 offers expensive out of head soundstage and overall soundsignature is warm, crisp and some how dark but they are detailed in mids n highs and shows hidden details. Bass is punchy with midbass hump and don't extend deeper as on FX700. The JVC FX700 also offers wide soundstage (out of head) but not wide as IE8 and overall details in mids n highs are more revealing than IE8. It offers clean, warm soundsignature(wood) and bass extended deeper than IE8 and it's reverb(textured, detailed and rich bass). So overall FX700 offers just little bright, warm wood soundsignature(good match for Jazz, POP, R&B, Rock, Country, Instrumental, Rap), with deep punchy bass and IE8 offers dark warm soundsignature( good match for electronic and bass heavy genres) with clean mids, highs and bass is impactful n punchy. BTW to ME EX1000, JVC FX700 and GR07 are amazing Dynamic drivers IEMs and IE8 is not far behind.

I agree the IE8 has unreal soundstage and bass but I did read the FX700 is overall better. Only thing that turned me away from the FX700 is the short cable, I think it's only 32 inches which is odd.

I've heard that the RE-272 sounds technical and cold

Never been a big fan of the sony earphones but the EX1000 seems to have many people comparing them to customs

Out of the ones I tried, the best 3 are FX700, RE272 and RE0.

Okay, my list is not in the order of technically better or anything like that. These are just the top three in order of my listening preference:

GR07
EX1000
FX700

In order by preference
GR07, Sennheiser IE8, Monster Turbine Pro Copper

The IE8 and MTPC are actually about equal for different reasons but the GR07 marries the best of both and throws in it's own mojo to stomp them both for my listening preferences.

I have only tried EX1000s for dynamic IEMs. They pretty much trump anything else I've heard.
