"I was told this P1 requires at least 300mW (32Ohm) capable amp to drive it. Is it true?"
No: My old FiiO X1 DAP is rated at ">100mW @ 16 Ohm, >65mW @ 32 Ohm, > 8mW @ 300Ohm". And I can only drive my P1 with roughly 70 % of maximal possible loudness. My Pioneer XDP-100 has "75 mW + 75 mW 32 Ω". And to play it loud I have to go to its maximum. If I use DAC/Amps it is different: The Topping NX4 DSD has 114 mW on 300 Ω and 293 mW on 32 Ω. But it gets not loud enough for me. There seems to be something else than mere output power.

I don't have the P1, but planars want more current, in particular, than other driver types, and some amps do that better than others, even within the same overall power output. Also, if your headphones aren't exactly at an impedance that's specified by the amp maker, then it can be hard to know what the actual output would be. Few manufacturers give complete output/impedance curves.

That being said, in the case of the NX4, you may want to check other parts of your chain, to make sure volume isn't being constrained before it gets to the DAC.

I did another test round with my amps and used them as amp only fed from my LG G5 with DAC add on. The loudest one is my FiiO A5, followed by the Little Bear B4-X. But when I take a track that is not as loud as a normal track these days (I took Children Songs from Chick Corea as an example), not even the A5 could reach intolerable loudness levels.

Anyone compared Toneking BL1 vs P1 (both modded to extract more out them) with no EQ/or PEQ via PDv2 etc ?
If anyone does have both...do Toneking have special MMCX connectors ?

Saw a BL1 unboxing by HWBB, and he was going to revisit them, but I could not dig anything up after that as 2 similar priced ChiFi planar IEMs....it'd be a good comp. vid.

I really wanna give this or the Shuoer Tape a shot but all the buzz that these lack bass unless driven by a huge power source makes my heart swing...

The power is for better separation and treble. The bass needs EQing.

With power the treble and microdetails is way better on the P1 compared to the Shouer Tape. But, it takes EQ to complete the potential.

The Shuoer Tape has no sparkle to all it throws at you. But if you need something easily powered, then they are still nice.

But I would place the P1 ahead, if you ignore convenience.

Well I just got my P1 and am stunned at it. What cables and tips do you guys use with it? im using a 8 core copper cable from a banned seller that costs like 50 usd and the Spiral dot ++. Might wanna upgrade to cable 170 from Hakuzens list.
