The PM3 is a very nice headphone. It was my portable for a while and I listened to Tidal through my Onkyo DP-X1 with them.

Oppo PM-3 delivers a great closed headphone experience, with all the benefits of planer magnetic drivers. I like to call them my closed LCD-2F equivalent. Tidal through the iPhone/CEntrance M8 DAP, or even straight from the iPad sounds great. CapTune allows me to adjust the EQ based on the type of music I am listening to.

You guys liking the oppo pm3 need to give the Beyer dt1770 a go. Don't be put off by the 250ohm, most phones will drive them well enough. They're so well done and if you care enough about Tidal I presume you're listening to well mastered albums, which the Beyer will really shine.

Really? I find my LCD 2F (2016 version) quite extended in the treble, way more than the PM3. Still, I hear you brother, I loved the PM3.

Hey, just wanted to say, I spoke too soon about Audirvana+. I hadn't explored the new version. Working with the filter and other settings yields some really beautiful results. It is clearer with a more definite sense of separation and imaging. I think some may like the softer focus of the Tidal app, but I've switched over.

The Free trial is worth checking out.

Filters as in the sound engine or something else?

Hey Mike, just the up sampling filter. I increased the steepness, but more importantly I reduced the anti-aliasing to the lowest value. I know that should lower sound quality but it improved clarity for me with my system.

I'll bet in a few years time your bank account won't think this site is so great!

I cringe when I think about the amount of $$$$$ I spent on this hobby. Sometimes I sit there with my music collection prioritizing the albums based on their production quality rather than which ones are musically composed best. I remember the days when I first discovered this site I only had a PX100 and an old classic Ipod, loved every album played. Now if you gave me that same set-up, I wouldn't be able to live with myself.

+1 for turning off anti-aliasing
