What a long week, this weekend I’ll spend it with m9 and WM1A.

Listening this setup I realise how lucky I’m to have access to such a setup.

I’m thinking of experimenting with a variety of cables I got but I love how the stock cable feels.

Yeah audionewbi, I forgot to mention I really like the housing for the stock cables - personally I think they are great. Let me know if you get more mileage out an aftermarket one. Any particular brand you’re looking at?

The M9 sounds even more sumptuous when using the 4.4mm balanced jack with Sony A1 Walkman.
Soundstage seems bit larger with more separation of instruments and better imaging.
Cause more mw in balance. Can add a better amp then even better sound.

Those are same combo i'm using and i'm super happy with this them. Sound is little warmer than the DX200, but i can spend more time listening without being fatigue. Every instrumental and vocal position are placed right in front of me but not too close.

I don’t want to deviate too much from the current sound, perhaps a more smoother sound but honestly I’m just been picky.

I got the two Sony after market cable, I do hear a sonic change but I still love how the stock cable feels more.

JMills8 can you please advise “ Cause more mw in balance. Can add a better amp then even better sound.“ what you mean by MW. I’m not sure what you’re referring to. Cheers

Mine has the Lawton L1 kit they sound very nice out of the Sony A1 they as I’m sure you know are a euphonic sounding headphone and mate well with the A1 neutral sound.

Anyone here used the purpose built Sony doc with their Z1/A1? I’m wondering if that improves sound output as well? I’m considering ordering one to use with A1 and M9.

Seems like the M9 scales really well so far excellent performance on, Dragonfly Red, Sony A1 Walkman (especially good using balanced), Grace M903, I will try with my Mirus Pro &GSXMK2 over Christmas if I get the chance. Any other observations with various daps/dac and amp combos?
