The WS99/WS77 PG 57..

Hey,

I've been lurking around this topic for a while, as it's basically the only place I've been able to find feedback on the WS99. After a couple weeks of looking around I've finally ordered them today and I'm excited to finally try them out! I don't have a lot of experience with headphones, but from what I can tell here it looks like I made the right choice.

I do have one question for anyone who might be able to help: I ordered the headphones through Amazon from ALEXCIOUS in Japan.  Are there going to be any issues in terms of warranty coverage?

How do they compare to your Q40?

More comfy by far with the HM5 pads, sound is similar in that its pretty balanced but the Q40's do hit harder in bass dept. better as a portable than the Q40's if that matters.

I can tell everyone that the ws99 when amped is on the level of the lp2's and surpasses the xb700 however with all the bass you can still heat the mids and highs clearly the bass is like an extra seriously and so far no matter how far I bass boost or turn the volume up these do not distort what so ever and I have a fiio e12 and a digizoid. absolutely awesome headphones. I have the q40's coming soon but can not believe that they have better bass and punch than these. will update when I hear them.

Omnon, just read the info on your tenso page. It tells you when the next shipment is. Just pay for it asap.

I'll be running my WS99 from an Asus Xonar STX with 49990 op amps.  Does anyone know how the WS99 sound on this card?  Also what is the best portable amp/DAC?

QuestionMeister, I paid about $180 total from Amazon JP and Tenso fees. The fees were about $35

Only Amazon JP and similar Japanese sites. Tenso allows you to buy from a Japanese vendor, receives the package for you since sites like Amazon JP don't ship internationally, and then Tenso ships it from your Tenso mailbox in their warehouse to wherever you live.
