Damn, I may be on the hunt for a headphone amplifier as well, and I didn't realise there was even an amp like this,

Bass Boost Cmoy Headphone Amplifier

It comes at a decent price too. But just one or two questions.
How's the portability? and also the Battery life?
I did a quick search and it seems that it has many positive reviews.

Cheers

Buy the JDS Labs version if you do.  It takes a 9-volt battery if I remember correctly.  It uses an Altoids tin so not exactly too portable.  Sounds nice though.  There's better options these days at the same price level.

Ok cheers for that Danny,
If however I am looking for a nice portable amp is the best option for both portability and battery life is the C&C BH?
Is there much else out there other than say the FiiO amps?
If it turns out that I a may be needing an amp with my WS99's I thought I might start looking now just in case. Although it may never turn out like that. But what could I look at around the $0-$100 range?

Cheers

The Fiio E11 is not a bad choice but if you wanna get another brand, it seems the C&C BH gets positive reviews.  But another Head-Fier who owns this unit says some prefer it to the C&C BH.  Might be worth a look.

I'm thinking of getting a dedicated portable DAP like the Fiio X3 to go with the ATH-WS99. Has anyone tried out this combination if it goes well together?

The X3 is pretty new so it may take a while to source and pair with the ATH-WS99.

Got my WS99 in today, and they sound great already!  They've been burning in for 6 hours, and the bass and clarity is there.  It looks like I'm going to need some new pads.  They were comfortable at first but are starting to hurt after an hour an a half or so.  Are the HM5 still the best option? This may be a dumb question...but how do you remove the stock pads? They just spin so I assume the snap off but I'm afraid to break them.  These are my first high end phones except for some wireless Seinheisers and that prob don't count.

Also I couldn't get them to play out of my Xonar STX using the FP Headphone powered setting...only the non powered headphone setting.  Does anyone know about this?

Its never felt so easy to take off a pair of earpads like it us on the ws99!

Simply all you do is you pull them off. Don't think about it, just pull them off.

I read your reply and was like...okay.  So I pulled pretty hard on the PLASTIC ring like I tried before and it hit me to pull on the pad only...came right off!  Whew glad I didn't yank off the plastic!  Thanks
