On another note, I have had some gear come into my possession since last I posted here, I will talk about a few of my favorites.
64Audio Volür is a great iem with thoroughly enjoyable bass. I just recently acquired this one yesterday so not much time with it. I found that it is very tip sensitive to control some of that upper treble zing, but I have settled on the Eartune fidelity u tips as they maximize the bass detail and minimize that zing, mids seem nuetral with good weight and definition. I have been really enjoying it with Jazz. From all of my reading it seems this iem has a pretty divided opinion, which seems pretty consistent for 64A lately. I for one have alot of respect for what 64A has done for the hobby and I am happy to have a 64A monitor in my stable and the Volür is quickly becoming a favorite.
Sony WM1Z...I cannot imagine the statement this made when it was released as it is one of the best sounding pure music players I have ever laid ears on. No it does not stream, and yes it is a simple UI without android, but IDGAF! This gold machine simply blew me away the moment I pushed play. I bought this on a whim not really expecting it to be a part of my permanent collection but it is NEVER going anywhere. It is heavy but its small footprint and insanely long battery life make it an ideal portable companion. I do use the Walkman one Firmware but have only used it on direct sound. This is a musical player to my ear and pulls me into the enjoyment of listening, I get lost in the music and never analyze with this player and that is how I know it will stay in my collection and this metric is quickly becoming my one and only for what gear will remain. Bravo Sony!
Luxury & Precision P6pro Ti99 is honestly a dream come true as I never thought I would have the chance to own this player. Having owned the OG black P6P and loving it to death, like the Sony, small footprint, amazing battery life ( not as good as 1Z tho), and P6P weighs literally nothing to boot is a huge selling point for me. However this little machine packs a wallop and the ti99 version is most definitely a refined P6P, more power and tighter bass, better extended treble and vocal replay to die for. I also used to own a LP6 Ti199 which I ultimately sold for the N30LE, and while I liked that player, I always preferred the more liquid dynamic sound of the P6P series. I absolutely adore this player and it along with the WM1Z will remain in my permanent collection. Thanks to
@PassionForMusic for selling this to me.
Venture Electronics Prime Gold aka Cartier Dap and Defiant Gold Amp..if one did not know and only saw the Defiant in Gold, you would immediately think its a Sony product as it has that same Gold color. Not much talk of these products in this thread as its mainly an Earbud brand but they have some quality top notch engineering with their Amps and Dacs IMO. The Defiant amp is crazy powerful but has a very musical but clean and hugely dynamic signature. It is made specifically for hard to drive earbuds and headphones but iems sound exceptional with it as well. It is very, very heavy as its solid copper and I do believe this helps imbue some of that analog flavor into the sound. It is by far the best little amp I have heard/used so far in my time in the hobby. I hope more people check out Venture Electronics, as they are a real Gem. The Shiny gold Prime Dac is also solid Copper and is very musical/analog in the vein of LP products. Not the most resolving or technical but highly enjoyable and smooth listening which seems to be my preference these days. I lean to the dark side haha.
Short impressions as I havent had this gear very long but wanted to share and say hello to everyone. Peace and Love my friends. Over and Out!
