Which one is more my preference, from your POV? I’m surprised to find that I can buy these without going through Penon, so I’m curious for a future purchase.
With the 10$ that’s left from your iem fund? 😬😬

If you want some extra dosage of bass, you should go for DTE900. SR8 is leaner when it’s comes to bass, note that for all BA set, the bass is more than decent but does not go as deep as DTE900, imo. Both of them are excellent in terms of technical prowess. I think, you should get both of them 😊

Since I've become a big fan of @piotrus-g's work at Custom Art, I absolutely had to see what PMG Audio can do with the new APX. I got a demo unit in earlier this week with the second batch now seemingly ready:

What a gorgeous set! I thought my Hybrid 3 Pro CIEMs were special with the abalone face plate and the shiny shells but these take it further with the hand-assembled amber face plate (thus each face plate is unique) and that shiny gold speckled shell which looks more like bronze artwork in person. I quite like the new cable too although I feel like something in this price range might have benefited from bespoke hardware on the cable for the plug housings and splitter. The shells are similar in form factor to the FIBAE 5 UIEMs I have so it wasn't a surprise that these fit me really nicely despite that nozzle looking somewhat ominous. No issues when it comes to seal and comfort thus. I am still testing this out but it reminds me of a FIBAE 5 that has become perfected in its technical chops. The use of a small planar sub-woofer to complement a DD for mid-bass is quite possibly my favorite combination to date with great impact and slam without compromising on detail and timbre. On the other hand, going from BA mids/highs to a planar tweeter can push the boundaries for some people. The PMG APX feels overly bright in the lower treble, for example, although thankfully the measured 5 kHz peak isn't as prominent or peaky to my ears since I am quite sensitve there otherwise. I find the APX to work beautifully with my jazz and classical music collection in particular, even without any EQ, although I am playing around with a simple EQ setup to see if I can get its strengths to shine more.

Has anyone here taken the plunge on Questyle CMA18P?

I must say it looks like quite an interesting proposition (and such a beautiful transparent design too  )

To get a grasp of its size (not sure if its a regular or max iPhone there) :

Feedbacks?
Very little feedback on this one but Quloos MUB1 would be the direct competitor...

Wharfedale Linton Heritage arrived - bit bigger than I thought but beautiful speakers and sound fantastic. They certainly require more power than my previous Kef Q300 but the Audiolab 6000a amp doing a good job nonetheless - eyeing up the Marantz Model 30 though 😬

Blade Runner first up to enjoy fully analogue.

[Cross-posting from the Sony thread]

Guys I am selling my Sony DMPZ1. All
Original packing. Used with kid gloves. Condition is mint.

Feel free message me if you want to own the device that will make you feel emotions that you may have never felt before, to quote one of the HeadFiers on the Sony thread. ❤️

I just need to repurpose the cash elsewhere. I am the first owner and bought from a Sony Store in Bangkok, Siam Paragon mall.

I was reading a review of an old classic IEM, Noble K10 Universal and I googled it to find some interesting thoughts from consumers. Everything really stays the same.

What could be in here that's worth $900?

In today's world, $900 for a TOTL would be an absolute steal.

I loved FiR's general house sound with the Ne4 and Xe6 (and I severely regret not just sticking with the latter and quitting there), so the new Electron 10 release also has me intrigued, given the price. FiR really seems to have started to bring down the cost across the board over the last 12-18 months compared to other manufacturers. That's a bit of a dig, but I really appreciate what they're doing
That's what happens when you keep seeing new IEMs coming out, so you assume there may be something better.
Unfortunately, the actual technology in IEM armatures doesn't keep getting better monthly or yearly (IMO). It mostly different signatures and soundstage levels. It will not be easy to beat already existing "TOTL" IEMs.
I was fortunate to here very many of them "TOTL"s over the course of last 2 years, so I knew right away I wasn't going to get better so I stopped with the XE6 .
In actuality the DAP would make more sense to focus on improving (at least for synergy) once you have a TOTL IEM that you feel get close enough to your preferred taste. 👍🙂

Please enlighten me. Arvo?

This may sound like an oxymoron, but does anyone have an idea of what would be a basshead BA IEM set? Noble Spartacus?
I am hearing good things about Canpur 622 B.

If you really want to experience an explosive BA Bass and are willing to wait, the 7th Acoustics Asteria won't disappoint.
