I never meant that it was a bad device, but it has been on the market unchanged for quite some time now, while others are on their second (or third in the case of the N30LE) iteration by now with significant UI updates. And considering that UI is a pretty massive part of any electronic and it’s the first thing that you notice if something is missing/cumbersome etc vs the competition. That’s how a device shows its age.I have to agree in a way, you have to be an LP fanboy to buy the P6Pro; the LP range is really going to be the best for the sound since no limitations in theory on the footprint and we are talking about over 32 x PCM 1704UK DAC chips. But it's over 7 years ago and still considered one of the best. Then Technology moves at a lightning pace. The fact that Mr Wan can improve the SNR to 127dB on this small unit is nothing short of being a magician. (Not wizard for you Noble fans) considering the LP6TI is about 127db. I am hoping LP puts a few undocumented gems in here for us to savour. I am buying this based on portability, weight, SQ and that LP platinum tuning from the FW but I do realize that whilst listening outside there will be that noise level which can eat away at the experience of listening to it compared to being in a quiet room with no outside influences. When LP7 or E7 is out I'm sure the price will be a few grand above the P6Pro Ti99. I miss my LP6....
I’m guessing it’s gonna be similar to the difference of going from 480p to 4k on a TV. Going back to 480p is painfulI wonder why, in the lands of audiophiles boasting "I can hear up to 20kHz", no one seems to be bothered about the treble peak in the upper highs (goes to 64audio too)?
It doesn't work that way; different DAPs will not have vastly different tunings or something else that you would hear in 5 seconds... But after a longer time of listening you slowly start to realize that the sound (of a cheaper device) has simpler dynamics, is more tiresome, is not as complex and organized.
That's my exact experience with AK SP1000M Gold - an old expensive flagship - which even gives me a smile every time I put it on. But after an hour, I need to go back to newer players. If I take it on a longer trip (as it is very portable), I always regret it. It's just too flat and dull long-term.
And the same goes to N30LE - the newest generation, I would say - versus current "normal" flagships like SP3000 and WM1ZM2, my previous favorites. They sound great! But A/B test them with the former, here even within 5 seconds you can hear how much livelier the sound gets. As if you turned the colors on.
You make my day pal
PS
I got my Noble Ronin after more than two weeks of wait for DHL Germany (thanks DHL for finally delivering). Firstly, amazed at how elegantly refined the tuning is! To me, tuning-wise, it dethrones the Trailii as the king of refinement in my book.
I would never call this "Ronin", a lowly masterless samurai or merely an unemployed salaryman in modern times. I would call it "Haiku" or "Daimyō" to expose the delicatness or a feel of higher culture.

ExactlyI think I spotted a Longines in your box in the lower left corner
Timsok TS-316 might fit what you're looking for?Hello friends. Any recommendations for a warm, mids-focused IEM with treble on the smoother side with DD bass?
I know this is kind of specific, but I noticed most mids-focused iems are BA/BA + e-stats.
I really liked Phoenix OG’s mids but felt like I still wanted that sweet sweet DD bass. I also own a custom VE8 so they’re too similar for me to justify.
VEX from impressions sounds like might do it, I’ll probably wait for demos to arrive and have a try but I want to know what’s out there yaknow? I might end up with 3 VE at the end of the day
How many people have heard these? I took a chance on them out of curiosity. I have a Singularity on the way and the FAudio Spring has my attention as well.Timsok TS-316 might fit what you're looking for?
