I'm not saying less crossover = less distortion. What I was saying is you could reduce a driver's THD at a certain amplitude by sharing that load across multiple drivers. It's like having two people carry a load of a certain weight instead of one. The pair can do it with half the effort per person. It's one of many reasons why a brand would dedicate, say, 6 drivers to the mids or 8 drivers to the bass. But, it doesn't make the in-ear objectively better or worse. The same time 64 Audio released the A18t, they also released the 4-driver Fourté. Both those models were co-designed by the man who founded FiR Audio too. Even the very brand you mentioned, EE, made the 14-driver Zeus around the time the A18t came out. So, it's not like these brands have opposing, competing ideologies. They've all dabbled with different approaches to make equally-compelling IEMs. All it comes down to is which you prefer, and which direction you choose to go in.Maybe I'm missing something, but I think empire ears kinda murdered the less crossover = less distortion myth years ago with the legend x. Their crossovers actually sounds like what the marketing promoted, even better imho. Excellent dynamics.
Legend x and xe6 has me wondering why an iem needs 18 drivers?

Depends on the country. Where are you located?Quick question, how are you guys getting on tours for IEMs?
There’s been quite a lot of sharing of “what I’m listening to right now” so thought I’d chime in. Late Friday night here after a long and busy week. Catching up with new releases, and two I’m thoroughly enjoying:
The new Christina Perri. Quite a different sound for her. Rather mellow, melodic, sweet. And finally a well recorded album (her others have been shocking)
And a new release from a new artist to me - Lera Lynn. Loving this laid back yet engaging indie pop with a gorgeous voice, and some beautiful layering and spatial effects.

My Sharona set is officially in production per the current order status. Hopefully not too much longer of a wait now. Really excited.
Might look into picking up a DX170 since the pricing doesn't seem too bad, but I'll see if any reviews crop up on general performance given the lower specs. Alternatively the BTR7 will show up in the US eventually, or there's even the new HiBy.

To be fair these tours are about driving extra sales. Similar reason that BMW M has extended test drives/autocross on rented tracks, even though it’s a well known brand. These tours go on for years. I got onto the Elysium tour at the same time I got the EXT and Phonix.
dang. that is hot. Unless that is San Francisco. Here we are still the same or worse (Seville, Spain)...

Not all are as crazy as me
The last 6 months I bought IEM's and cables without listening one second to any of them !
So yes some will really appreciate it and buy or not
And for sure it's part of the business but no harm is done either
No one says you need to wire money after ...
Actually this way we can share more opinions so ...

Im quite set to get Jewel for my next upgrade.
All reviews about Jewel have been positive. Im trying to find out what it doesnt do well.
So… beside price, what do you hate or found to be mediocre about Jewel?
(Also if anyone plans to sell their Jewel, I would be interested)
