Beauty across the board...how are you liking the Cayin? I've yet to hear an R2R implementation.

Yes love it - I genuinely had planned to keep it till Christmas day but when I played a few tracks yesterday (supposed to be a quick test!), I was absolutely mesmerised by its natural sound which is rich and smooth but full of effortless detail. That led me to grabbing every earphone I own to try, in each case I'm hearing their capabilities like never before. I love my Sony DAPs but they don't stand a chance from an SQ perspective versus this.

I might still pack it up till Christmas, I'll be even more excited knowing its capabilities. Oh and maybe buy the RU6 to keep me going with this incredibly addictive R-2R sound!

Absolutely - I was listening to Newbsound 32pro last night, incredible... Bisoy was inspired to create the 32pro after hearing R01.

You can totally tell. They have amazing synergy. I’m wondering what Bisoy comes up with next. I’m pondering over some iems again at the moment (Isabelle, zen pro, illumination, ie900 and even the estat Shure kse1200)

Spent the weekend getting to know U6t, have to say I felt compelled to be up both late and early trying to fit in enough time with it.

The tuning is just so easy to get along with. Nothing in particular jumps out which I think is kind of the point. I’ve stuck with the M15 apex module that was fitted out of the box, haven’t had time yet to experiment with the others. Sub-bass reaches pretty deep, keeping my inner bass-head happy enough. Treble is laid back and very smooth, leading to an overall warm and relaxing listen. I'm finding this to be particularly pleasing with some less-well-recorded albums, eg The Jesus & Mary Chain's Psychocandy. U6t just gets itself the hell out of the way and let’s you enjoy the tunes.

Fit and longer-term comfort are outstanding, probably the best of any IEM I’ve got. I can use these all day with zero fatigue.

Isolation is also very good, again among the best of the IEMs I have. Looking forward to testing out the M20 module at some point, I’m fairly confident it will do the job on a noisy train or with loud street noise.

But the thing I like best about U6t so far is how dead easy it is to drive, and that it pairs well enough with every source I’ve tried, iPad/MBP headphone jack and Apple iPhone dongle included. Of course U6t still reveals differences between sources but they are much less pronounced with the U6t. Given the choice I would gravitate toward using the BF2/Vali2+ on my desk, but if I’m out and around with the SR25 or just my phone, or sitting on the lounge with my iPad, I’m never thinking “oh this would be so much better with X”. So in a sense this IEM is saving me $$ by avoiding the cost of portable source upgraditis.

Adding it all together, I’m left with a lovely IEM that I can use to listen to pretty much anything with any device, for an extended period of time wherever I am. I was after an all-rounder to complement some of my more specialist gear, and the U6t does this very well. If this is what life is like with one of the “baby” 64 IEMs, I suspect there are others in my future.

How does it pair with the IE 900? The Ti is said to have a brighter tonality than typical R2R implementation, so wondering if it pushes IE 900 over the edge?

Has anyone checked out the MoonDrop Spring tips?

Those look interesting, going to pickup some

Those I think are the tips attached on the Kato demo here. Probs the default out of the box as well. They're not as sticky, and have some ridge texture on them, which help increase their grip in your ears purportedly

Isa, ZEN PRO and IE900 certainly come with a massive recommendation for me - I get the feeling that ZEN PRO will have a similar broadly balanced tuning (albeit with their own unique tuning nuances) that works with any genre, hence why I'm so keen to try FD7* and confirm the assumption (which is based on reviews I've read of FD7 and my own experience of the ZEN PRO tour unit) - if that's the case, maybe better for you to focus on either Isa or IE900. Isa is great with ambient/modern classical, beautiful midrange and with fantastic timbre and an overall more intimate listening experience, so a good alternative to your buds for ambient etc. IE900 excels for me with mostly electronic music, an absolute master at handling complex/fast arrangements in synths, drum machine programming over a wide stage for example. And then of course there is Dark Sky...

*torn between it and the ZEN PRO right now!

Trying it now with some treble intense material - there is more energy for sure but it hasn't tipped it over the edge. I need to spend more time to articulate what I'm hearing but an immediate impression is they sound even bigger than they did previously, wider and taller stage and while I think R01 sounds smooth, there is this precision it injects to IE900 that gives a sense of high-definition listening, over and above what was there with my Sony DAPs. To revert to a previously used comparison, I always feel IE900 sound like a Super Audio CD or another digital hi-res format, hence why they excel so much with well produced/modern electronic recordings for my listening. Oh and mids have improved with this pairing too!

Yeah I’m thinking of getting the Isabelle next as you can’t get the ie900 anywhere! Which do you prefer between the isa and dark sky?

Ordered myself some S and M of these. Always useful adding to the eartip collection. I also have some interesting tips from Whizzer on their way to me - their soundstage and their protruding bore tips. Hoping the latter might tackle my very small and acutely angled ear canals.

I'll need to a/b them more to get down to details but at a high level certainly Dark Sky.

I plan to compare more later today, head-down in a college assignment right now that's due tomorrow and my amazing ability to procrastinate has me right to the wire 😬 Mature student study seems a good idea until faced with looming assignment deadlines...
