IMO, that price is way overpriced for it. I take the N3 over the Z5, regardless of price.
Agreed. I liked the Z5 but there’s no way I’d pay that much for it, especially these days when there’s so many good options around that price.

Good to know, I already have the N3 anyway! Struggle with fit but I must try again soon.

Z5 fits worse than the N3 for me (and a lot of other people from what I have read on their respective threads).

almost losing one of my kitties to a urinary tract blockage (he will be fine, thankfully!
I'm glad he's getting better. One of ours has been hospitalized at the vet's since Wednesday and we've been freaking out about him. He's suffered from urinary tract blockages in the past - he gets crystals - and now he's fighting off an infection and pancreatitis and some kidney problems. He seems to be improving, though, and the vet's seeing positive signs of recovery. Anyway, I mention all this to say I'm sympathetic to the rough time you must have had recently, I hope your kitty gets back to his old self soon, and I'm sorry that it'll take a few more days for me to post my final impressions of the Oriolus Isabellae.

Thanks! I've been dealing with this issue with him for a few months now and I've tried everything I'd been prescribed-- urinary food, mostly wet food etc.-- and I came home from work Friday evening and something clearly wasn't right. Rushed him to the vet Saturday morning and they told me he wouldn't have lasted the weekend if I hadn't brought him in so I'm very grateful for that. In other news (while I don't begrudge it at all) the emergency vet trip + unblocking + 2 days of observation will cost me ~$3K CAD and (yes my mind went there) my first thought upon tabulating the cost was "wow that's almost one of VE's new ones". I love my silly goof though and am glad I acted fast for him. Can't wait to hear your elaborated thoughts on Isa!

Edit: Also given how many (usually male) cats seem to suffer from this issue and the great cost involved in dealing with it I'm surprised they haven't developed a diet for cats that more effectively deals with it.

Audiosense DT600 (6BA) First Impression

44CB27AB-15A5-43FF-87FC-CF48AFA44984.jpeg

The DT600’s low end is the most attention-grabbing aspect as it is incredibly deep and powerful, yet controlled and nicely detailed. The bottomless bass extension is a bit of shock coming from all BA implementation. The bass is forward in the overall signature but manages to be powerful without throwing off too much balance. It can be reasonably tame when necessary, but can also become dominant and explosive when track calls for it. The lack of a mid-bass hump definitely helps, eliminating the bloat, and the sub-bass emphasis gives the low end good rumble and a tactile feel. The drivers are also one of the quicker ones out there and convey a good resolution, layering and texture akin to the high quality DD drivers. The difference between the DT600 and lesser bass-heavy earphones such as the KZ BA10 is obvious- next to the DT600, the BA10 sounds overly soft and bloated, with noticeably poorer clarity and detail. Even the similarly-priced GS Audio GT12 lacks a bit of control, extension and tightness at the low end next to the DT600.

The midrange of the DT600 is recessed slightly in comparison to the low and lacks clarity and detail in low OI which clears up nicely when using high Z-out. It’s still not quite up there with the RS10 or Sony IER-M9 on either count but competes well with the GT12 and SE12. The mids can be overly warm and thick at >3ohm output impedance but changes to more neutral tone using 30ohm impedance adapter. On Shanling M8 single ended, DT600 sounds smooth and slightly ‘euphoric and diffused’ in character, which contributes to a more romantic British speaker-type of sound next to the sharper, drier and more monitor like sound of the GS SE11 and IER-M9. The treble is boosted in comparison to the mids, but not overly so. The top end of the DT600 isn’t laid-back and will not mask issues with the source material. It is a little more edgy than DT200 but no less smooth on the whole. Upper treble extension is only moderately good (on low output impedance) to almost great (high OI) device but the overall treble quantity should be sufficient for most listeners.

The presentation of the DT600 is not particularly impressive for a top-tier earphone within the DT lineup, but works well enough with the sound signature. The soundstage is relatively well-rounded but width and depth are only about average, superseded easily by the spacious soundstage of the GS SE11 and 3DT. However, the DT600 images better than the similarly priced GT12 does, providing a more accurate sense of placement and distance. The timbre is not up there with the Sony IER-Z1R, Oriolus Isabellae, or even Dunu Zen, but then neither is the price. Within its price tier, the DT600 is very competitive- I don’t feel that ThieAudio Legacy series earphones perform better, for example. A final point to note- as before, the Audiosense is not at its most brilliant at low listening volumes but- due to the newfound treble prominence- it may now become tiring at moderately high levels as well. But within that narrow sweet spot, the DT600 throws out very enjoyable and dynamic sound.

I’ve had a cat who fake drinks water by licking metallic things such as doors and tables.

Fed him on a wet food exclusive diet and it seemed to improve. I also mix a little boiled water with the canned food so its like a soupy mix. Its the only way I could get him to “drink”.

There is sooo much conflicting info out there. I've been scared off from wet food diets before by Vets who cautioned about dental issues. Other vets seem inventivized to push expensive prescription diets. The following article has lots of useful info and was written by a vet whose cat suffered greatly with these issues:

My kitty will be on a wet food diet, with possibly some added liquid chicken stock for extra water content, from now on.

My male neutered kitty lived until the ripe old age of 19,5 tears old. Of course, it was urinary issues that did him in. VERY cute pic of Rock and his kitty!!

TForce Yuan Li is a very visually pleasing iem. The sound signature is smooth and gorgeous, like a furball, however, it has a hidden claw in upper mid/lower treble region, which can suddenly lash out and leave a light scratch. While I liked the rest of the sound, this one particular aspect set the balance off for me. Here is the full review:

As I'm sure there are many lovers of a good midrange here:

This set images the midrange exceptionally well. Some of the most holographic presentation I've had the pleasure of listening to.

My boys drink and pee a lot. They love their water fountain. I hope it helps keep them healthy.

I have heard that water fountains help.
