So today I was listening to the Aladdin with a new cable - the Hisenior AS8 Autumn Sky (named by yours truly). This is a silver and copper alloy cable with modular termination - 3.5 MM SE, 2.5 mm balanced and 4.4 mm balanced terminations provided. This cable is indeed a very nice cable - visually pleasing, quite supple despite the 8 core configuration, and sounds good too! It cleans up the midrange of Aladdin even more, enhances separation, tightens the bass. I am liking it quite a lot! This photo came out especially good as well.

There's a pair, I chanced upon just now, if you're still up for it.
https://www.head-fi.org/classifieds...z5-iems-with-upgraded-muc-m12sb1-cable.11620/

This is neutral to a little warm, can be played loud ie concert level loud, inoffensive tuning.
not for outside use as the the isolation is not as good as the typical shell shape...

Got mine for around 300 used, I think it's a good deal if you can get the Z5 at that price currently. More than half the new. SQ-wise they're tuned more towards the warmer thicker side. Lower-midrange especially are emphasised more, somewhat like the EE Phantom. They're not too bright but still pretty clear in the upper range. I think they may be good for those sensitive to too forward upper-mids or sparkly treble. Two things I like most are their bass and imaging resolution. Surprisingly well-drawn and defined sound, with non-fatiguing smooth treble, and quick hard-hitting bass with DD quality texture. Especially good for EDM, large hall ambience, male vocals and most lower-frequency-range instruments. Not so good at portraying female vocals and strings due to their naturally warmer timbre and tendency for more lower-mids emphases. Which to me personally offers something unique to switch to from listening to the brighter Isa and more neutral RS10 :) For the fit, I think the Z5 have one of the best seal to my ears using the stock Sony tips. But the Sony tips have smaller bores, which is why I switched to the Spiral Dot instead, which are still softer than the Sedna and more comfy

Been listening to the Japanese Breakfast video game soundtrack for the game "Sable."

It's pretty interesting.

Especially the track "Eccria (Night)."

Reading their book as well "Crying in H Mart."

I've been loving this magical little combo. Smooth, bassy, dynamic, beautiful timbre, decently resolving and so much fun.

Also, it seems VE has started sending out review units which means our Canadian tour package could be on its way to me in no time...I'm so excited to hear them. Stay tuned fellow Canadians. Something to look forward to despite the clown of a PM we just re-elected.

Lol, try living down here in the US.

Fair point. It's hard to look at the current political landscape in the US and Canada (and Australia for that matter) and not conclude that we live in a clown world.

Please don't forget about New Zealand. Oops, I mean Aotearoa.

Incredible. Insanity.

True, but you seem to have voted in a guy whose head zips up the back. We just can't seem to win in North America lately.

That's about the extent of the political commentary I want to make in this thread-- which to be honest I kind of enjoy as an escape from the craziness in the world lately.

Norm (RIP) had some humorous observations on US vs Canadian politics:

Man Norm was one of the greats. His "Professor of Logic" bits is one of my faves:

Nobody wins when politics are involved...

Also good luck with your tour. I signed up for audio tiers here in the US so I can hopefully try out some of those VE releases, and the EE Evo, because those are way way way above the price point I would consider buying without at least a demo first.

On another note, I tried to distance myself a bit from this forum, and failed, the 64 duo was speaking my language so I caved and bought it. I'm really really enjoying it. Thinking the nio might be on the chopping block.

Highly recommend the RNHP for those looking for a clean yet powerful and affordable amp. Drives the Isa well, increasing some background sharpness and imaging stability. i always stay below 8 or 9 o'clock volume dial for IEMs. You can also use portable DAPs (N3Pro, M8, etc.) through AUX. Not much coloration added to the source sound characteristics I feel. A solid rather small desktop amp to add to the collection :) Will try pairing with KSE1200 tomorrow. Maybe a good match for estats as well (EXT)
