For those of you who have suffered from tinnitus, did it begin episodic or was it all out from day one? Trying to figure out what I’m in for.

I look forward to meeting some Coolers at the show!
Multiple head-fi threads on tinnitus will pop up from a site search, and note that for many it NOT a barrier to deeply satisfying musical enjoyment. Re. my own tinnitus of several years duration, it has remained stable w/o progression. I generally favor open-back / over-ear headphones but mix in some IEM listening. Maintaining low to moderate listening volumes, good general health and for me, meditation (by which one can learn not to fixate or overly engage with thoughts or sensations that detract from well-being) can be helpful. Good luck!

This legendary ambient album by Aphex Twin is 30 years old this year - hard to believe I must say, time really does fly. Rumours of a reissue following a post from Warp records - I might finally get to own a copy on vinyl… prices for secondhand can be crazy depending upon the edition. Note the €17.99 in the snip below is a CD.

Anyway, starting my day with it via Perpetua and absolute sonic bliss as always.

Hey guys, my review of PW Audio's new Century Series flagship, The 1960s Mk II, is now online here.

Did someone say baby Orphy?
Just at time when I decided to stop buying cables, oh yeah, the new version of my favourite one released, okay.

Hello everyone,

I have a question whose answer might be obvious and something everyone should know already, yet I don't.

Does a 0.78mm 2-pin cable fit like the Odin Stormbreaker (PWA 1960) fit into 64Audio U18s?
According to 64Audio they use 0.75mm pins.
Does that 0.03mm really make a difference and is the pitch the same?

Any experiences and input are highly appreciated!

🙏🙏🙏🙏

No wifi, no bluetooth because the vacuum tubes are that sensitive to wireless interference. MSRP USD $529 from April 2024. I actually think these are all positives, Cayin / other brands have lots of streaming DAPs to sell to you
That rules it out for me. I am pretty much streaming-dependent, I think that the SP3000T can at least do Bluetooth but that's not enough I guess.
At the moment Nu Tube DAPs seem to be the better option, especially with sensitive IEMs.

You will wear out the connectors, so don't do it.

64 audio uses 0.78mm for universal iem's and 0.75 for their custom iem's. So you are OK to use 0.78mm on U18s. :beerchug:

Even if there was onboard wifi/bluetooth the thread says Cayin are putting only Android 8.1 on the player. That old is pretty shocking for a 2024 release, unless there is an unfortunate typo. So just as well it is an offline player
