And probably wasn't long after that I bought your Anole VX and moved away from se546! I remember your ever changing list of IEM's, I might go back to the start of the thread for a trip down memory lane and see what was hot / what wasn't at the time!

Now that does take me back. I bought the VX due to hype at the time (my first ever Musicteck experience) and while it was certainly enjoyable that was basically when I realized that BA bass and hyper technical resolution driven sets are not really fo rme.

Hey another AC Redwood Burl-bro!

Honestly what Zach pulled off with Redwoodburl is my fav. ZMF design to date, even stabilised units cant match the redwood burl patterns imho ;D

Beautiful AC!

I think these and others on your list are available to demo at our meetup. Will do the math this weekend.

drftr

Yeah really need to see if I manage, kids and company work stuff are eating up all of my free time atm, would love to meet fellow headfiers in person though=)

VX was my gateway as well. I had them and a brand new (at the time) SP2000 and I felt like my ears were being excavated by a sonic drill. A totally unnatural level of leading edge attack and lit-up "detail." I literally almost swore off IEMs completely. Until I learned more about BA vs. DD and saw that good R2R DAPs were (becoming) available and then things started to get better...

A little impression from today's "unexpected synergy" is the combination of Canpur CP622B with Aroma A100TB.

Canpur itself kind of smooth, full body, sweet and musical sounding IEM. Aroma A100TB synergise well with Aroma IEM, means A100TB provide musicality, good punch, and add density in notes. I thought combination both of them would result "too much of good things", but turns out they match really well togerther.

This combination sound "muscular", weighty, with very solid notes. Canpur become more energetic in term of bite and punch, with more forward vocal and more complete "rounded" soundstage image. It felt like each notes is more pop out and palpable at the same time.

To those of you who heard Jewel and Annihilator. What are the main differences? Is Annihilator much brighter than Jewel, is the bass on Jewel higher than Anni? Currently considering blindly going in for Anni and doubts are crawling in =)

Too bright headphones usually tend to sound bit flat to me, I dont really enjoy losing the weight of instruments and depth of vocals timbre.
