+1 for Sarah McLachlan

+1 for Sarah McLachlan’s Angel

+1 for Sarah McLachlan’s track “Dear God” (probably was the final mail in the coffin for my belief in a god)

+1 for Sarah McLachlan’s “Song for a Winter’s Night”

In any case, here is an album I have been obsessing over recently

Anna B Savage - A Common Turn

It's so beautiful and grandiose. I am enraptured by it.

A Divine listen with Timeless

Same here! I think ideally for cleaner mids you need the bass to come down between 200-300 Hz. And pinna gain is there for a reason. Without it it's all too easy to run into trouble to focus on vocals when there's plenty of lower tuned instruments. Don't ask me how I know! Honestly, I think Sony's mids are actually quite good. It's just that they more or less get run over by anything lower tuned. Assuming Banbeucmas is East-Asian (?) I wouldn't want treble to rise even above their favourite target either under, say, 6-7 kHz. As far as that goes the U12t doesn't look bad. Although I would use it with much less of a bass boost instead.

For anti-bloat, just to throw into the mix, Shouer Ej07m, Thieaudio Oracle and Clairvoyance.

“nail in the coffin…”

It autocorrected me a dozen times trying to type that out.

The last 2 I won't be able to fit but I have always been curious about the first one. Of course it's not available in Europe so I will probably never find out how good it really is. Did you get to listen to it in Rome? If so, are there any special shops that I should check out?? Flights cost less than a set of new tips.

Listening to IER-M9 now and absolutely leans warm, missing a sparkle up top but I've been listening to IE900 a lot the last few days so would need time to adjust and focus as per my earlier comment. Very relaxed signature but still excellent detail, not that wide a stage, again compared to IE900. I'm really enjoying but I can understand how they fall into a Marmite type of category.

Trying Slow Meadow and presented quite beautifully I must say!

No, unfortunately Italy isn't the place to go for audiophile stuff at all. Especially for Chinese IEMs. I think London is best in Europe for that. Not sure about Chifi though.

I had thought about London but if I find the IEM I want then I'd like to buy it from the dealer where I tried it for the service. Unfortunately British pricing is even more F-ed up than mainland Europe. I seriously can't see why I would have to pay 25% more than someone in the US or Hong Kong for instance.

Yeah , your best bet is either Singapore, China, HK or Japan perhaps.

After a couple of weeks with n6ii-Ti, I've no doubt as to the sound performance upgrade to Sony NW-WM1A. However, Sony beats it in:
  1. Battery, by a long shot
  2. Build quality, just more refined engineering and attention to detail
  3. UI - more intuitive, faster, and easier to navigate
  4. Recently added files - I really miss this feature
  5. Hi-Res as a category, allowing you do as the name suggests, browse only Hi-Res albums (I love this on the Sony and was disappointed to not have on the Cayin)

Do you use UAPP or another 3rd party player by chance?
Nobody beats Sony in battery life.
