Trying the player our with AONIC3 & 4 before going to bed. Lovely lush vocals. Slightly intimate presentation and warmer timbre. Its definition seems to rely more on the contrast from its black background, rather than sheer resolution. Perfect partner to tune to while relaxing at the latter part of the day :) Beautiful mids. And even more musically so through unbalanced out. Balanced 2.5mm out, there's more driving power, but the sound became slightly more tense, less laid-back

Totally with you on your SR25MKii (now that's a bit of a mouthful) impressions. Smoothness, clarity, warmth and resolution are its primary characteristics for me so far. It's totally transformed the Oriolus Reborn, which has gone from being one of my "Special Teams" IEMs that I use for very specific genres and cases to one that sounds good with just about everything I throw at it. I have a hard time imagining a better bang-for-your buck option right now in terms of mid-tier DAPs than the 25ii.

I grew up listening to Karajan’s rendition of the Beethoven 9th (1963 cycle) so it is still my favorite. Karajan’s 1977 cycle is distant 2nd and George Szell- Cleveland orchestra #3.
I happen to have those 3 as well but decided to only add Stokowski's performance to my Essential Music list. Will give them another try over the next few days because with this music normally Karajan would a clear winner or at least top contender for me. Tnx...

Is there a 'best' service for streaming classical music? I don't stream at the moment but plan to start using when I get the n6ii-Ti. Well I do have a family Spotify account which my kids and wife use - would that suffice?

Cheers, I'll take a look at that. I just tried a random Beethoven on Spotify and it sounded awful... SQ that is.

Qobuz, despite having a decidedly average UI has an awesome collection of music, especially classical, at great qualities. Each week I get a bespoke playlist that I've made some genuine discoveries from and it really seems to hone in on what I like.

In my experience AK’s leather cases are $$$ but oh so nice.

As soon as the used HiFi dealer gets me cash for my speakers and amplifier I think I’ll buy the AK25MKII

Great, I'll take a look at that too, cheers.
