Thanks. Yes, was wondering that, too. Why no headphones with multiple drivers?Loudspeakers have to move much more air.
Still the problem to solve is similar, and why we have multi driver IEMs. What I always wonder about is why Over Ear Headphones have not explored multi drivers.

There's a website called head-fi.org (you may have heard about it?) that has this post:Loudspeakers have to move much more air.

Interesting examples.

I think this was your best poll Although your questions are getting deeper and deeper, to the point that I think it's time to leave the thread! For sharts and giggles, and in the interests of science and community I invite everyone to take this test and share their results:

But as always with tests like these: Is this truly how we are, or how we would like to be?

Multi drivers headphones exist in a form of gaming headphones actually. There are a good amount of 7.1 headphones out there. And all of them just isn't very good partly because of the small drivers.Loudspeakers have to move much more air.

I think for headphones with drivers being this big and close, you will just end up with the drivers not lining up with your ears and you will have to deal with the sound bouncing off your ears, affecting the tuning and timing. It's good enough for gaming headphones, but bad for totl open backs.
A proper implementation with big drivers is going to be very massive and heavy. With higher complexity driving up the cost on top.

Makes me think: Hey @Auricon, did you choose tuning over technicals in the last poll?Advocate here as well.

Can't recall, LOL, but most likely tuning despite having a highly technical career background.

Case in point, listened to @aaf evo's "Island" test track on EVO + Genesis. I was optimistic that Genesis has some redeeming technical chops but with EVO, the pairing (tuning?) was
Swapped out Genesis for P8 Prudence, Socrates, PW FT/(S) and all was right again.

Not sure why this thing thinks I'm introverted. What, just because I bond with strangers over the internet about putting in earphones and shutting out the world and ohokaymaybethatswhythatactuallymakesalotofsense

Always interested in tests like that, and typically the results don’t surprise me!
